Another big weekend at the paper-clip and it’s the older ladies that will run for a big purse and the glory that The Azeri (GII) brings.  The big news for this one could be the weather, and who knows how that may transpire, around here.  Right now, it shows 92% chance of rain, so… I’m guessing a fast track.

A horse that doesn’t seem to care what the surface may bring is Starting Over, and she’s my top selection.  Over $5k in the bank with fifteen wins and thirty-two on-the-board performances, it’s hard to say no any time she gets in the gate.  I know, she’s an 8yo now and when most would be popping out babies, she’s still diggin’ in.  Gotta love this war mare. 

Let’s take the horse that ran second to the top pick last out and put Devil In High Heels in our selections.  She was second beaten three-quarters of a length in the HOU Ladies Classic (GIII) and put over $1k in the bank last year… she’s won one of her two wet-track efforts, so she’s certainly a horse to respect.

I’ll stay in the same vein and go to the rail and take the third place finisher from that same race, giving Spring Street a chance for part of this nice purse.  She has a win and two seconds from three wet-track starts, so she’s classy, versatile and certainly knows how to run in these big races.

The Green Card sees it slightly different, but we are pretty close in out top picks.  Let’s go win some money.
