Starting Over came from off the pace to win the La Troienne by a length Friday. She came out of the gate slowly and got squeezed back early in the race. By the first call, she had just one horse beaten but was only three lengths back as the field rounded the clubhouse turn. She took the high road all the way around the track, as many as four wide, whittling away at the lead until she was second out of the turn for home. She pulled away to win by a decisive length at the wire.

2 Laffy Crack (Night Rider Stables) Came from off the pace to take second.

3 Command (Smokey Stover) Led at every call but the last and finished third.

4 Retrospect (Mb Stables) Made a run late but could do no better than fourth.

5 Bella Chica (Mb Stables) Stalked the pace early, then faded to fifth.

6 Curlina (Arindel) Stalked the pace early, then faded to sixth.
