For a New York Second, it looked like Mb Stables’ purchase of State Title from Team 7 Illusions for $350.00 might not be the best bet they ever made, but this win puts that fear to rest. She showed just what she is when circumstances are right, in this case the most important circumstance was turf and took the lead out of the gate and never relinquished it winning in a relaxed attitude.

2nd      I Am The Storm            TwinTowersRacing                  10-1 (HRP) 5-1 (SRF)

As I said in my review of the Foster, “anytime you see a TwinTowersRacing horse in a stakes race at long odds, bet him to place”. Well, here we are again: I Am The Storm broke out of the gate four lengths in front and settled into a nice steady stalk into the far turn where she began moving forward, closed steadily down the lane but just couldn’t collar the winner.

3rd      Firewall                   Mb Stables         6-1 (HRP) 3-1 (SRF)

 At least I got third right as Firewall continued her great form with a strong challenge to the leader that continued throughout the race and into the stretch where I Am The Storm caught up and put her in third.

4th      Influence Seeker                  Mb Stables                      7-1 (HRP) 10-1 (SRF)

Influence Seeker forced the pace to the far turn and weakened a bit but had enough to hold the others.
