Buena Vista Stakes – Grade II
1 Mile Turf Stake Purse $200.000 Filly & Mare 4 Year Olds And Up.
1st Stinky Rene TwinTowersRacing Beschizza A
This race cut up pretty bad because of the rain and with Stinky Rene’s main competition out of the race this turned into the formality it was expected to be. The winner of five from her last six she marches on to the BC and even at this early stage is looking like one of the favorites for the November championships.
2nd Omnibus High Voltage Hernandez R M
The widest gate so she naturally led but was not left alone and just battled home against the superior winner. This is a decent mare, but she keeps bumping into Stinky Rene and that is going to be her biggest barrier to winning a big race in 2024.
3rd Wander Mb Stables Gutierrez Mario
She had a good wet track record so was a favorite with punters but for some reason ran way below the sort of form she showed when winning The Ballston on an off track. The bottom line is that she is not as good as Stinky Rene, but I still expected a little better.
4th Fiji Islands Threshold Wilson E J
I had to laugh when I opened the racing paper this morning and saw that the HRP odds monkeys had this one at 3/1 and Stinky Rene as the outsider of the four. They are the biggest joke at HRP, and we have to thank them for the giggles we get and thank the lord that this program doesn’t run HRP!! At least we hope it doesn’t!!
