The Fox Gets Scalped

The Fox – Grade III
1 Mile Inner Turf Stake Purse $150.000 Filly & Mare 4 Year Olds And Up.

1st Scalp Spankys Barn Gaffalione T

This consistent five-year-old got some reward for her hard work today with a nice win. A little further back than she was in the Megahertz last time she saved a bit more for the finish and powered home a length winner. This is one of those mares that may never be a superstar, but she will always run her heart out and today that heart got her a good win.

2nd Liberty Lake D J C Racing Stables Franco M

Stalked the lead but just whacked away at the one pace. Once again, she could not produce a turn of foot when positioned well but she kept on well for second and for that she deserves some credit. Another that is fairly consistent she will always give a sight in this type of race and sometimes that isn’t a bad thing at all.

3rd Sneaky Panther Nakamura Stables Centeno D E

Closed hard in the grade one Matriarch last time and made all the running today, either the trainer was playing with the gaming buttons or horse lead once again proved it’s inconsistency. Either way she ran a decent race keeping on for third, and I am sure she has a decent future and a win in a race like this in the future.

4th Inquisition Arindel Lopez P

The odds monkeys clearly thought she was going to come back to form today but she was a rather one paced fourth and it does look now like her best days are behind her. Having said that, I have seen plenty of six-year-olds turn it around mid-season, so maybe she will get a few more months before she is sent to the sheds.
