T Boy Racing “Ain’t Scared” to Challenge NM Classic Gulch Champ

One of two four year olds entered in this years seventh season of the NM Classic Gulch Champ affair. I Aint Scared will carry top weight of 125 pounds with his win in the $75.000 McDonalds Handicap over at ALB. He will have an entry mate as well for this event, bringing the trainer a 50/50 chance of capturing a victory with just four total runners.

  • NM Classic Gulch Champ – Purse $185.000
  • Zia Park Racetrack- For Three Years old and up, Foaled In NM
  • One Mile Distance, Dirt
  • October 27th, 2019

T Boy Racing grabbed his first meet title this season over at Albuquerque Downs where he managed to claim 25 victories with a record of 107 ( 25-22-20) at the meet. He has been a part of HRP since 2012 where a horse by the name of Precious Scotch would earn him his first ever victory, and would also get his only pay win that year. He just surpassed the $2000.000 mark in earnings this season when his entries of Blue Eight and Serpiente Party finished second and third in this seasons running of the WV Breeders Classic at CT two weeks ago. Today he will be sending out another double entry by the names of I Aint Scared and Made The Choice High, and is hoping that the surface here at ZIA will be just as rewarding.

AS for I Aint Scared, even though he won the McDonald Handicap three starts ago, his past two efforts in the Land Of Enchantment and the Darnell Handicap could of produced better results. He has been post time favorite in all three of these events, and hopefully T Boy has him back to being focused for this affair. The longer mile distance should be just what this grey four year old needs to get up in time. With Made The Choice High who will break from the three post just outside his stablemate, his last effort came at the mile distance in a restricted OpClm35 for non winners of three. Was having some good success on the grass in four events this season, but since making the switch to the dirt, has only been bringing in fringe efforts. Definitely liked running on late in those longer grass affairs, but will the mile be enough?

Two other entries will be putting this trainer to the test today. From the rail trainer Spankys Barn will saddle Lots Of Pride to find the wire. This three year old chestnut closed out his career with Barcelona Farms with a winner in an Alw67.5 after breaking his maiden. Has been putting in his efforts with this trainer in some Gr. I affairs, namely the Crosby and the Jerkins Memorial. Was the post time favorite in the Crosby and he did close to within a length of the eventual winner. Earned himself a 99 SRF figure for his efforts, and those kind of numbers should afford him top billing for this event.

From the four hole will be the final runner for this event by the name of Balayer La Musique. This Drabfantasy trained four year old colt has only two starts this season, both coming way back in January and early March at SUN. The January event was the Dominguez Memorial Handicap where he finished behind I Aint Scared in fourth. Jockey Chirinos was aboard for that affair, and he will be back aboard once again this weekend, and has been winning at a 32% clip this year, impressive. Going 235 days without a race is not the ideal factor to look for a win, but the trainer has a record of 34.8% winners in plus 180 days away. Does he have him ready? You decide.
