The GP Mile – Grade II
1 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $300.000 Open 4 Year Olds And Up.
1st Tactical Mb Stables Davis D
It has to be said that even before this race this horse was probably the best dirt router in the game. So give him the two draw, the Mb factor and of course Cherokee Sunset as his Daddy and it made you wonder why anyone turned up to race him. Well he still had to negotiate the race engine and he did that in a way only Mb’s horses seem to be able to do, with consummate ease. The BC favorite until the three year olds turn up its business as usual at HRP in 2020.
2nd Broken Tap Arindel Zayas E J
Arindel Stable has certainly joined the game with the X Factor as they continue to turn out horses that can race far beyond themselves in the big events. Making the running from an unfavorable draw he still managed to beat none other than Splash Mountain with form that was no better than a 50 other horses. The recent works were giving us a clue though so this was no shock finish and it will be interesting to see how far this relatively new trainer can take this five year old that was bought for twenty dollars.
3rd Splash Mountain John Henry Gaffalione T
Even with a better draw today this old champion couldnt beat Tactical and it looks like he is destined to live in the shadow of that one for the rest of the season. The big milestone of the 6K mark was passed today though and that in itself is a great victory so congrats to this great trainer and even greater horse.
4th= Cardinal Direction D J C Racing Stables Velazquez J
Stalking the lead this one showed all his sprinting speed but as expected his stamina gave out in the end. A great effort in a tough field.
4th= Long Term Investment TwinTowersRacing Tunon M
Came from the back as is his style he never got close enough to look a winning chance but ran pretty well in a tough field. The year ahead looks rosy for him and i cant wait to see him tackle longer races.
