Californian Stakes – Grade II
1 1/8 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $200.000 Open 3 Year Olds And Up.
1st Tekkers Maxmillion Farm Maldonado E 1:47.78
Maxmillion clearly judged the track perfectly today as they doubled up with another on pace stakes winner. Right back to his Skipaway form over a trip that clearly suits he made all and clung on grimly for a neck win. A real pacey sort i think he is best over this trip but is effective between seven furlongs and this 9 furlongs and clearly has a future after this game win.
2nd In Captivity Mb Stables Bejarano R 1:47.85
Last years grade one winning favourite kept the leader and winner in his sights and looked like he would overhaul it but didnt really quicken through on a track that was playing to pace. He looks ready to win next up and should be kept in your black books.
3rd Range Of The Sun Team 7 Illusions Garcia Mar 1:48.10
Stalked the lead but just kept on without quickening in the end.
4th Face Your Fear Luz International Van Dyke D 1:48.33
Had no real chance on a track playing to speed as he was taken back, ran on pretty well at the end but was never closer than fourth.
