For Fillies Three Years Old

Five of these fillies competed in the KY Oaks. Two of them, Yow and Scarlett Dream, have been swapping blows ever since, running against each other in the Acorn which Yow won and the CCA Oaks which Scarlett Dream won. This is a field full of talent and there are several with a good chance to get the win, but it’ll be interesting to see these two go head-to-head again.

1 Long Term Parking (TwinTowersRacing)

This filly ran with the boys early in the year, but quickly turned to filly competition, winning the IND Oaks last out in the mud. Don’t expect her to challenge the early lead, but she could be moving late.

2 The Hateful Eight (Smokey Stover)

Running really well this year. Only finished off the board once in six starts. But she is in a tough spot to be trying to win her first graded stake.

3 Yow (Royalty Stables)

First of five KY Oaks alumni in this race. She wired the field and won by a nose. Followed that up with a win in the Acorn. Didn’t fare well in her last start in the CCA Oaks off a short turnaround. Does her best running up front and she could be hard to catch if she gets the lead.

4 Scarlett Dream (Arindel)

This girl also tried the boys, finishing fifth in the Withers. Fourth in the KY Oaks and the Acorn, she also competed in the CCA Oaks, winning by a neck. Looks ready for a rematch.

5 Celine (D J C Racing Stables)

Another graduate of the KY Oaks, Celine followed the same path as Yow and Scarlett Dream. With the exception of a last-place performance in the KY Oaks, she has been consistent and close. Could this be her day?

6 Black Book (Mb Stables)

Lightly raced winner of the $135.000 Wilton. Looking for her first graded win in a field packed with talent. She’ll need to step it up to compete here.

7 Water Demon (Chili King Stables)

Won the State-bred Melair at 1 ½ mile two back, so the distance shouldn’t be a problem for this girl. Class and experience might be cause for concern.

8 La Roo (Our Athletes)

Another graduate of the KY Oaks, finishing fourth in that contest. Came back next start and won the Summertime Oaks. Couldn’t hit the board in the CCA Oaks last out. Needs a good trip and racing luck.

9 Nijinsky (Team 7 Illusions)

The least experienced filly in the field when it comes to stakes and graded competition. But she did win an optional claimer at 1 ½ miles in good time last out. Wouldn’t count her out, but she will need to bring her A-game against these.

10 Soviet Spy (Nakamura Stables)

Won the Crescent City Oaks by three lengths three starts back. Last out she finished second in the Summertime Oaks. A well-managed filly, never worse than third in seven career starts. Wouldn’t be surprised to see her in the mix at the wire.

11 Muddy Buddy (Mb Stables)

Won the DEL Oaks last out after finishing tenth in the KY Oaks. Works are strong. She looks ready to go against this tough field.
