The Appleton

For 4 year olds and up going a flat mile on the inner turf. Let’s take a look at the field:

1. Face Your Fears, trained by Mb Stables: This colt exits a G2 going a 1 1/4 mile finishing 5th. Now, getting a little class relief and shortening back to a flat mile, he will be a tough customer in here.

2. Steel Home, trained by Nakamura Stables: This horse is trying to find form again after a horrible performance at Houston last start where he finished 7th by 17 lengths. A lot of tough horses for this one to beat

3. Lucky Phooey trained by Estero Farms: This horse comes out of a state bred stake where he finished 1st. Taking a tough jump in class, this will be a great test for him.

4. Hefner, trained by Mb Stables: This is a hard knocker which has finished 14/19 in the top 3, a horse everybody would like. He does not win a whole lot, but is always right there.

5. Laffin Jamie, trained by High Voltage: This horse is looking for that one break-through race to put him on the map. He has just been lingering around. This might be his year.

6. Vegas Host, trained by Nakamura Stables: This horse tested further then a mile and, it did not go well for him, but back to just going a flat mile is for sure to be his liking.

7. No Childe Of Mine, trained by Our Athletes: This horse is trying to stretch out to a mile after quite a few outs going 5/8, we will see how he handles it.

8. Man Childe, trained by Our Athletes: Is trying to find his go to surface and distance where he might have found a route on the turf being his best lick after an allowance score last time going a mile on the grass.

9. Magne Bern, trained by Maletto: This horse will have to show more than he has to get close in this race. He is way out-classed.

10. Nowhere Man, trained by Mb Stables: After a good allowance win to start off 2020, this one is stepping back into stakes action, and is very live in this spot. The challenge will be the 10 hole.

11. Red Cup, trained by John Henry: Trying turf for only the 2nd time in his career, he is trying something new to get this runner to pick the bit back up, but he might need a little class relief before he finds the winner circle again.

12. Green Rush, trained by Pennsville: This stud will have to overcome the 12 hole, and it will not be easy. May want just a touch more ground to be able to get up in time.

Good Luck to Everybody!
