Beverly D Looks a Very Open Race

Beverly D – Grade I [BC]
CD Race #3 1 3/16m Turf Graded Stake
Purse $500.000 For Fillies And Mares Three Years Old And Upward.

1 Starting Over TwinTowersRacing Davis D

This is a filly that is typical of the barn, thrown in the deep end over a range of trips and surfaces and invariably shows up. I really like the fact that this ones best win came over 12 furlongs on the turf but in true HRP style her best race was in defeat in a dirt sprint when she ran a close second in the grade one Derby City Distaff. She gets a great draw today and she will be competitive.

2 Versailles D J C Racing Stables Lopez P

This filly had been just a little disappointing until she ran the perfect race in the Just A Game winning that grade one by just under a length in June. Her last race was in the Diana and she ran far better than the fifth placing suggests staying on really nicely to be beaten just a length in a very hot race. She gets the perfect draw today and i just feel that she has turned a corner in her last two starts and feel she has a winning chance here.

3 All By Myself TwinTowersRacing Jaramillo E

The second stable runner and far more the turf router type than her stable companion. An easy winner of the Endeavour at the start of the year she has since been close up in some top fillies and mares turf routes and deserves the tag of winning chance in a race like this. My only fear for her is that her stamina has been a little suspect when put up on the pace so i wonder whether she will be ridden with more restraint today as her faster stable companion may be the one to push the pace, either way sure to be competitive in an even looking race.

4 Terra Command Threshold Lezcano J

A pretty consistent and versatile mare she bounces back to turf today after a couple of races on dirt. The trip is the unknown for her as she made er mark sprinting but we all know at HRP that trip and surface can mean nothing compared to real life thus she gets her chance at the big time today. She faces a tough field but is capable if she is in top form.

5 Hawaii County Mb Stables Cedillo A

The four year old has been brought along slowly this year after a successful three year old season and showed what she is really capable of in the Penny Memorial last time thrashing the opposition on an off track. She is no one trick pony when it comes to weather so a dry track shouldn’t be a problem and as long as the trainer has his mind on the game and not with ‘other’ things this one will likely start a worthy favorite.

6 Nurses Mo Mentum Farm Centeno D E

Gained a big win in the Nassau last time after showing some nice progress trough the year. It is clear this one has hit that upward turn in her improvement curve and we all know those type can be very dangerous at this time of year especially as four year olds.

SUMMARY

A very open looking race where a case can be made for every runner. Hawaii County looks the form choice but Nurses is improving quickly and will be a big danger if the race engine is kind to her. The draw of the race goes to Versailles which gives her a great chance and you can never write off a TwinTowers runner in a grade one either. One to watch and enjoy rather than have a bet on maybe.
