Four Year Olds and Up Fillies and Mares
Here we will be taking a look at the field for this years edition of the grade three Bewitch over the Keeneland turf course. It is a mile and a half for fillies and mares so the top runners will have to love the distance. Let’s take a look at the field.
1. Tightrope Walker (12-3-3-1 $178.810), trained by Diablo Diablo
First up in the field here and this filly is a graded stakes winner in her career. She did win a grade two in a race in last October. She has not ran this year and she has never been this far ever either. We’ll see if she is fit enough for this marathon.
2. Ghost Dance (14-1-1-4 $104.030), trained by Team 7 Illusions
Next up the Cherokee Sunset filly and she is coming into this race off of a seventh place finish in a grade three at Gulfstream. She can handle the distance I think but not sure if she is up to the task with these runners.
3. Secret Premier (13-4-2-3 $182.210), trained by Mb Stables
A runner in the field for the champion trainer of the game here and she will be making her first start on the turf in quite a while. She did win an allowance race last time but the question is if she likes the turf as much and if she can go the distance.
4. Living Loving Maid (15-2-3-8 $19.400), trained by Miata Farm
So far in this fillies career she has been mainly on the free tracks but in her last few she has went to the pay side. She likes the distance and she likes to launch from way back in the field so a hot pace will be needed.
5. French Box (12-2-1-3 $150.170), trained by Threshold
Entry from my fellow SRF writer Threshold here and she has been knocking on the door in some other minor stakes on the grass. She has never been this far and she also likes to close from far back so she is another one who needs a quick pace.
6. Tinas Flag (16-4-2-3 $72.930), trained by Rock Creek
This filly here is a pretty decent filly but one problem with her is that she has drawn a bad jockey and unless Rock Creek goes and finds a new rider she definitely won’t have much of a chance to get the win here.
7. Steal The Heart (15-3-2-4 $231.700), trained by Samlam
Another stakes winner in the field here and she is a filly who usually likes to show a lot of speed and be up close to the lead. If she can get away on an uncontested lead and go slow she could steal this win.
8. Quest For Fame (14-5-2-2 $131.250), trained by Rheingold Stables
Next up here and she is coming into this race off of a ten length win in a wide open allowance at Sam Houston. It was this same distance but on a soft turf explaining for the huge margin. If it comes up wet she will be awfully tough.
9. Made The Choice High (22-2-3-5 $100.600), trained by T Boy Racing
Last one here and this is my filly and she is coming into this race off of a win in a non two allowance race at Gulfstream at this same distance. I do not know if she is good enough but I think she does like the distance. She will need a fast pace because she likes to come from far back.
10. Nancy Broom Moytoy (24-8-2-6 $1209.320), trained by Smokey Stover
Scratched
Summary
A pretty good field has been entered up here and there is definitely no standout in this field at all. My top choice in here is Quest For Fame off of the dominating win at the same distance. Good luck to all in the field.
