Well i must admit i didn’t see this one coming and whilst he was beaten in an ungraded Stakes over the same trip last time it has been clear that he is better on the grass than he was on the dirt. His speed figures have been creeping up too so there are some good signs that the stable has a really nice and improving three year old on their hands here. Today he came from a fair way back and forced a dead heat on the line which was a completely different running style to his last effort and i think we can safely say this is his preferred style. Still an entire the stable will be hoping for some further success and then look to establishing this bloodline.

Well he just hung on to his unbeaten record and once again demonstrated how different a horses preferences are at HRP to real life. On speed to win his first three races today he became a deep closer and still managed to get up to force the dead heat. This is a remarkable run for the gelding coming from the TAM sprint maiden win in January to a second graded stakes win in just four starts and he really does look a really special horse.

It was a four way photo finish for this race and the camera put this one in third in what could’ve been a four way dead heat so there will be a couple of disappointed trainers after this race. Having said that there is no way you could be upset by this effort as this super consistent home bred was really game from on the speed as the closers swooped late like we were on the old race engine. There is plenty more to come here and he should be a real nice one to have in the barn in the three’s and up turf routes this year.

Well isn’t this a reflection of HRP, a photo finish where two noses separated four horses and this one who came out fourth by the width of stirrup ended up losing money. Stalking the pace this really was a race of two types as the two dead heaters came from the back and the two in the minor placings were on the pace throughout. Better suited by the dry track today he ran a nice race and could have easily won in a different scenario.
