1 Fangs Of The Storm Arindel Davis D

This isn’t the hottest race i have seen recently so there are a few that would have a chance where they wouldn’t normally in a graded contest. This is not really one of them but with this being her first step into this grade you could say she still has something to prove. The winner of four from her last seven she is unbeaten in two this year and is hard fit and in form two things which when added to the ace draw give her a very good chance.

2 Think About It Mark88 Alvarado R Jr

Drawn the coveted two box on the face of it this one is going to be tested here. Just one maiden win at TAM and working somewhat slower than some the draw will allow her to get a run but she will have to show some major improvement for that run to trouble the winner.

3 Recession D J C Racing Stables Velazquez J R

She was pretty disappointing in the Sweetest Chant on seasonal debut after a good two year old campaign but she may have needed that run and i expect a more forward showing today. Her works have been OK and the draw is good but she will have to step up today of she is going to turn the tables with her Sweetest Chant rival Chances Are.

4 Chances Are Mb Stables Gaffalione T

An eight length maiden winner she went on to run big in the Durante Stakes from a bad draw and it was pretty clear she was a filly that would be a contender in these types of races. She won the Durante Stakes in er seasonal debut from another terrible draw in the style of a filly that had improved from two to three and looks an obvious choice to take the win today even with a 2Lb penalty.

5 Dream Scheme Jive Inc. Gallardo A A

Won two from three as a two year old and ran a nice race in the CA Cup Oaks on seasonal debut prompting a generous sale price and the move to Jive Inc. There is no doubt she has ability and i guess today we will find out just how much.

6 Ice Crystal Smokey Stover Ferrer J C

She has run some nice races in a seven race career but has yet to make her mark at this level. She ran Chances Are to a half length in the Blue Norther Stakes so in receipt of two pounds from that filly must rate at least as good a chance in this race. She scrambled home by a nose in an optional Claimer at FG on seasonal debut which wouldn’t be an impressive run up to this race in real life but here at HRP form can look a little different so i wouldn’t read too much into that.

7 Phun On Acid Estero Farms Bridgmohan S X

Bought for $100 after a maiden win she didn’t run too badly in the Ginger Brew in her first start for the new trainer and seasonal debut to give it some hope today. She will need luck from the wide draw especially as she hasn’t started well in the past but if all the various stars line up she would have a chance.

SUMMARY

This looks like a straight trifecta to me, Chances Are to beat Ice Crystal wit Fangs Of The Storm the one most likely to spoil the party.
