What a difference a couple of weeks makes…  to see a longtime trainer ready to pitch in the towel, it was alarming.  But it looks like that was just a brief speed bump on the way to Louisville as the Fractious trained Tko showed good speed throughout Saturday’s TAM Derby (GII), scoring by a convincing two lengths and pretty much stamping his ticket to the KYD.  Proving that I don’t know what I’m talking about, Aer Stables’ filly Princess Jasmine ran a big race to take the second spot, a neck better than a three horse bang-bang-bang for the minor money, where Clubhouse nosed out Locamotive for third.  The final running time was 1:41.51 for the mile and a sixteenth on the Oldsmar main strip, listed fast. 

Tko is a 3yo bay gelded son of Residue – Hunt, by Moment Of Madness, and he was bred in Cal by his owner, Fractious.  This was his third win from nine starts and it certainly looks like he is ready to make the TC Trail a successful journey.  He now shows lifetime earnings of $379.000.

Tko broke well, forwardly placed just behind the pace, steady gain throughout lane to pull away in the late stages.  Princess Jasmine tracked the pace, game run while no threat to the winner.  Clubhouse rated back early, best foot late, just up for the show.  Locamotive broke with speed, tracked the leader to the top of the lane, lost some ground, just missed show.  Penalty Shot broke in hand, rated off of the pace, passed tiring rivals with some late interest.  Strider gave an even effort.  Born Sassy away quickest of all, set the pace to the lane, tired.  Archduke Charles was outrun.  Info Pieces was not a factor.  Shelter At Home showed some interest for a half, tired.  Marine One gave a dull effort.  Residue Rain was outrun.
