DED Mile Looks to Be Loaded

DED Mile
DED Race #5 1m Dirt Stake
Purse $100.000 (plus up to $15.00 for LA-breds) For Three Year Olds And Upward.

1         Cajun In The Box          Night Rider Stables          Vargas J P

He has had nine goes at route trips and failed in all of them so this sprinter will need to find something over this mile to be a chance of winning. He is working fast there is no doubt of that and the stable is on great form after their two BC wins but i think this may be a stretch.

2      Arcaro            High Voltage           Kennedy T

A good winner last time in a competitive optional claimer at SA, he will be very competitive here from this ideal draw. He has taken a while to really start to improve but that last effort was very strong and his works are strong.

3      Doctors Order         Crocker Ggs         Melancon G

Won an SAR big ticket allowance against older horses in August and then ran pretty well in the Appreciation Mile last time giving this three year old a decent chance of rolling the older horses. Going back to the start of the year he was beaten less than a length in the Wood Memorial so is clearly classy enough to win a race like this,

4        Darth Charley         Diablo Diablo         Saenz D

He adds a lot of interest to this race having the TC form after contesting both the KYD and the BEL. He led up the KYD field before weakening but was only beaten three lengths in the end. He has had a couple of goes on grass recently but has been disappointing but if he can come back to his early season form then he will be a winning chance.

5       La Lune Rain        T Boy Racing             Birzer A E

The seven year old has won 12 races so must be given a chance and whilst his better years are behind him he rarely runs a bad race. He gets a penalty here which may rule him out of the win but he is a real game old horse and this seems to be the year of the older generation.

6     Master Of Hounds           The Sidley Stud        Cotto P L Jr

He has a real interesting race record having run 20 races and finished second in 50% of them. They don’t come much more consistent than that and whilst he would be a deserving winner he may have to settle for a place again. Both of his wins and most of his best runs have come on turf so this surface may test him.

7      Loaded           Nakamura Stables            Thornton T

Worked a sizzling 1.36 last time and that was after a strong BEL allowance win so for a stable that is in seasons best form i expect this one to be right there at the finish.

8       Black N Bleu         Alydar Stables         Eikleberry R

Another really strong worker he too has been running very well in tough allowance races and has racked up six wins in distance races. A wet ground specialist if it rains this one wins, of it doesn’t he looks good for a top four.

SUMMARY

I really like Loaded for this who looks to be peaking at the right time. Black N Bleu looks a good chance especially if the track is wet, of the rest Doctors Order looks a chance from a good gate.
