1 Sycamore Tree Night Rider Stables Bridgmohan S X

This filly has really turned it one since being brought up to route trips but her last two wins have been on turf and she faces a struggle on dirt today. She gets a good draw but has a deep closing style which is not suited to it so again may struggle. The one big positive is that she will definitely stay the trip and nine furlongs for a two year old is a stamina sapping ask so that may give her a sneaky chance of getting in the money.

2 Leing Fu Aer Stables Beschizza A

Winning her last three this looks to be a serious filly in the making. This however is a step up in class and trip so its not a given that she will run well. Having said that she runs like she will stay the trip and i was impressed with the way she won the Glorious Song Stakes last time so with the perfect draw she must be given a good chance. Her works are strong, there was a time when 1.37 flat for the dirt mile was a time that only KYD runners did but today it is more common place. This is not a strong field for a KYO race and she may well be good enough.

3 Charming You D J C Racing Stables Bejarano R

Another untested over this trip she has shown ability in sprint races and has worked the mile well enough to suggest she may just get home. I am not sure her form merits making her a winning chance but she gets Bejarano in the saddle and a good draw so she could be right in it when it matters.

4 Lordess Our Athletes Velazquez J R

She has won two from three and has the added bonus that 9 furlongs will not be a problem. Her works dont reflect her form which isnt always a problem and i did like the way she ploughed through the slush last time to win a decent allowance. This is an open and relatively light field for a race like this and she is among the chances.

5 Risen Day Mb Stables Gaffalione T

Again the trip wont be a problem for her but many BC runners find it hard to back up after the turmoil of those races and she is coming off a busy season. She ran sixth in the BC from a terrible draw and had previously been a fine closing second in the grade one Alcibiades so on bare form and her trainers prowess at this level she would probably start favorite to win.

6 Lorena West Tiratzo Sanchez M J

As often happens the horse with the worst form gets the worst draw but whilst this filly is still a maiden and has a tough task from the widest gate she has worked times as good if not better than these runners so a surprise win is not impossible. I may just throw a few Disney Dollars her way.

SUMMARY

This is a pretty poor race for a KYO points race so i think its worth thinking outside the box. Lorena West hasnt been able to win a maiden but they were all sprints and her recent work suggest a mile may see some improvement. I think its worth a shot as other odds may be skinny especially if she gets a soft lead. Second, well stick your pin in but it may be between Leing Fu and Risen Day.
