If it rains this one may well win but with firmer ground she may be looking at a place finish. An eight length winner of an ungraded stakes in soft ground over this trip she has a few plus’s to her name one of them being her liking for extreme trips. She ran nicely when fourth in the Glens Falls Handicap last time and with the ace draw should get a nice trip.

2  Librisa Breeze    Blushing Meadows   Beschizza A

A lightly raced three year old she won two in a row before taking on black type company and hasnt done too badly. She ran on nicely to take fourth in the Pucker Up Stakes Last time suggesting this trip will suit her. Still in the learning phase but this isnt a strong race and she could end up taking advantage of the three year old weight allowance.

3  Volare                  Axeman    Lanerie C J

This brilliant old mare is now in her twilight years at the age of 8 but has proved she can still be competitive at this level and it would be lovely to see her win another graded race. She loves this trip and ran well enough in the Glens Falls Handicap last time when second to suggest there is still a win in the old legs.

4  Nice Laff Phooey    Maxmillion Farm    Bridgmohan S X

The turf king sends this one here and you always have to respect a runner from the stable on grass. On her third in the Glens Falls last time she is right in this and she finished in a  heap with two other of todays runners and it may just be down to trip and luck as to whether she wins today.

5  Smokin Nebulae    Drabfantasy    Albarado R J

This one does look like the winner on all sorts of fronts and its hard to get past her superior form lines.She ran a huge race in the Taylor Stakes last time finishing like a train to be third and if she repeats that sort of form she would win this race by a good few lengths.

6  Raven Rock    Team 7 Illusions    Landeros C

A winner of just one race she has tried a couple of times to break through into stakes races but so far has failed pretty badly. Its tough to see her winning this but everything at HRP has a chance so i wouldnt write her off too lightly.

7  Sovereign Nation    Paradise Stable    Court J K

A 31 race veteran she has been competing at a higher level recently and hasnt done too badly. Her closing fourth in the Wilshire Stakes over a mile suggests she will relish this trip and as long as she doesnt get stuffed by the outside gate then she could run a big race.

SUMMARY

Smoking Nebulae looks head and shoulders the best in this field and must be the top choice. Everyone will be cheering for the great old mare Volare and if her old legs can still keep her close enough she may be a worry for the favourite but this is a race with one clearly ahead and everyone else fighting for second.
