The Draw Does the Talking in The Remsen

The Remsen – Grade II [KYD]
1 1/8 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $150.000 Open 2 Year Olds.

1st Afterburner Fractious Jaramillo E

What a difference a draw makes. Winner of the Iroquois and second in the Pharaoh from inside draws, second last in the BC from a wide draw and now the winner of the Remsen from the ace draw. This time back to the draw that suits his running style he took it up from the stalk in the stretch and held on gamely from the closer’s by a neck. This will be an exciting hope for the stable as we fall into the New Year ad start to think TC.

2nd Marine One Smokey Stover Sanchez M J

Gave ground at the start and spent the rest of the race creeping back into it only to fail by a neck. There was no repeat of his last gasp win i the Nashua last time but this was another good stayers run and he will certainly be a force in the TC qualifiers.

3rd Familiar Moon Aer Stables Bridgmohan S X

Another very good effort from this gelding who has been thrown in the deep end since his maiden win.

4th Burnin Red Hooves TwinTowersRacing Lopez P

When this horse gets a change of luck from the random draw that doesn’t seem so random where he is concerned he may just take a big race. Flying home from the back he was running the fastest last quarter in the race and he has certainly gone on my short list.
