1 Toymaker Waldo Carmouche K

A quick glance at this geldings form and it would be easy to discount him but his two crushing defeats both came on an off track and his form in between is much closer to the mark. A good win last time out when making all is more the sort of run we can expect if the going is faster today and with this inside draw if he can dictate the pace he may be a good chance.

2 Crossing The Rubicon Team 7 Illusions Davis D

Took a while to break maidens but did so nicely enough last time out to suggest there is some ability there on this surface. Its not so much the form that screams this ones chances but the works since that last run where he has managed a 1.34 and 2 which is pretty much as good as most grade one runners. So with a perfect draw i would put this one on top today and if he can win this then i would expect him to go on and take some big prizes going forward.

3 Faroe Islands Tiratzo Luzzi M J

A decent enough horse at allowance level he has won two but all of his runs have been over sprint trips. A 1.34 and 4 work suggests he will be better at longer trips and he gets a chance today to show that. He is certainly an interest here and with a good draw i would expect a big effort in his first route.

4 Mojave Rattler Mo Mentum Farm Lezcano J

He has done well since being bought for $80.000 winning two from three for the new owner. His last win was on an off surface and his maiden win was on firm so he can act on anything and this trip certainly suits him so there are a lot of ticks in his boxes. His works are solid enough and he gets a jockey in form so there will be plenty of support from a nice midpack draw.

5 Rampart Clutch D J C Racing Stables DeCarlo C

Represents some of the stakes form in this race but you have to go back to his juvenile days to find his best race when a close fifth in the Borbon from a nasty draw. His runs since have been less encouraging but this is his first back over a mile and sixteenth so he may have some improvement up his sleeve.

6 You Are To Blame Valdo Stable Gutierrez R

Just the one maiden win and that was in a claimer so he may be in a little over his head today. He will stay this trip well though and has been working well enough to warrant a crack at black type but will need a few things to go his well.

7 Confined Mb Stables Franco M

Will almost certainly start favourite not only because he has some super fast works to his name but also because he has the best form on paper in this fairly soft field. He was pretty good when a close second in the Dania Beach and then again when third in the Pasadena Stakes last time out and since breaking maidens he has been consistently improving. He would be an easy choice as winner today especially as he has done well from wide draws before.

8 Unamerican Joshua Stables Cancel E

Good enough to run in the BC Juvenile Sprint last year he would probably be a close second on form and carries very strong works into this race so must be a strong chance. He ran well from a bad draw to be a nose second in the Columbia Stakes last time and has been running like he will improve the further he goes. The wide draw is the leveler here and it may just comes down to who gets the best trip.

SUMMARY

This looks a three horse race with Confined and Unamerican carrying the best form into the race and Crossing The Rubicon carrying the potential. Draw may be the key here so i am going against the form and picking Crossing The Rubicon to come out on top.
