The Grandmaster Takes First Step in Defending His Sprint Crown as He Lands the Odds in The Troy

Well this great six year old didn’t let me down here showing his class to win by a quarter length. It is one thing to be the best horse in the race it is quite another to win the race and for a while after the start i thought he may just be in trouble. Great horses find their way though and he came through down the stretch with his powerful finish. He will need another win to get to defend his BC Sprint title but he is a horse who should be there.

2nd        Mystery        Fractious        Davis D

In his first ever turf sprint he manages to run the BC Sprint champion to a quarter length, only at HRP ay. He has been good enough on the dirt around the sprint trips to suggest that if this wasn’t a flash in the pan he could be a force in these races in the second half of the season.

3rd        Purple Star        Black N Gold Stable       Ortiz I Jr

Another great example that you can’t write any horse off at HRP. Beaten in a $7 claimer in March a length behind the BC Sprint champion in August. This was a great claim by the trainer who has really found the secret with this gelding.

Ran a great race for a horse that was beaten the same distance in a route grade two last time out. There was no problem in keeping up for this one and he kept on really well at the end when outpaced.
