1 Great Beneficiary Smokey Stover Murrill M
One minute i am writing about a real tough race full of talent running for $150 and now i am writing about much less competitive field with just 4 runners running for $160 and it looks like Smokey Stover may just win both of them. Such is life in 2022 at HRP.
This filly has won five from ten with her last win coming in the Limestone Turf Sprint where she led from the gate and was never challenged for an easy win. plenty of pace from the best gate to lead from she should be hard to catch.
2 Glitter Bright Broken Spoke Stables Hernandez B J Jr
Just the 4 starts but two wins and a close second in the Cortez last time she looks to be a filly that is ready to make the step up. She has shown a more closing style and if Great Beneficiary goes off too fast then she may be the one to get over the top late.
3 Jessica Alba Arindel Hernandez C J
A consistent filly she won three in a row at overnight level before tackling black type and has done pretty well in finding a pay check in all three of those efforts. A half length behind Incendiary in the Melody Of Colors she looks the natural stalker behind Great Beneficiary but may do well to get past her today.
5 Incendiary Mb Stables Saez L
This one is possibly the best on exposed form but was well beaten by the one horse in the Limestone and i don’t see her turning that around today.
SUMMARY
This looks as easy a race to read as is possible at HRP which probably means it will look completely different to what i expect. i see Great beneficiary making all here to beat Glitter Bright who tails the field and gets by the other two but fails by a head to beat the winner. Jessica Alba stalks the pace and battles with Incendiary for the third spot. Now that’s how i read it but i am sure a bit of the old HRP AI and some race engine anomalies could make it the stellar opposite.
