The Memories of Silver Could Go Any Number of Ways

2  AQU    The Memories of Silver

$100.000    3yoF     1 1/16m InTurf    122lbs +penalties

A smallish field of six are set to go a mile and a sixteenth over the inner turf at AQU on Sunday, and as this meet winds down, The Memories of Silver seems to be a wide open race.  I took the lightly raced Finest Wine as the top choice as with only four starts yet seeming to love the grass, I think she can improve off of that third on the FG grass facing stakes types.  Sneaky Case is another that deserves a big big look as this filly has won her last two and seems to be a very nice filly with a favorable career in front of her.  You can make a case for any of these, and that makes this a fun one to watch.
This race isn’t supposed to be on the inner Turf, it’s supposed to be on the outer Turf, but why get anything right…  junk in, junk out.

Here’s The Field –

1
   Crabby    D J C Racing Stables    Vargas J A Jr   122   8/1

A second and a win from her two seasonal starts and she looked good taking that Alw race at FG last out where she showed a bit more early speed and just kept on going.  This is her first start vs. black-type horses so it will be interesting to see how she goes.

2
Lady Hilltopper    Black N Gold Stable    Franco M   122   6/1

Tagged out of a $14.000 claimer and paid immediate dividends taking down Alw horses at FG, going a mile in her first start on the sod.  Solid works getting ready for today and she may prove to be a very very smart claim… give her a big look today.

3
   Finest Wine    TwinTowersRacing    Carmouche K   122   7/2

Broke maiden and won an OptAlw race, both at TUP, and was third in the Lacombe Memorial at FG… that was her fourth lifetime start and first swing at the stakes types and she came away with nothing to be ashamed of.  She is certainly a horse to watch in this race.

4
   Hollywood Tours    Threshold    Lezcano J   122   6/1

Another with only four prior races and she’s won half of her lifetime trips to the gate, breaking maiden on the KEE sod then taking down OptAlw types at SA in her most recent.  That SoCal race was at a mile and an eighth, so distance is in her future.

5
   Sneaky Case    Ekli Stable    Castellano J J   122   4/1

Back to back wins and she’s never run a bad race in her life with a 2-1-2 line from five starts.  Broke maiden and took NX1 Alw horses, both at a mile on the TAM grass, so this looks like a spot where she can keep her hot hand going.  I think you have to use her on all tickets.

6
   Zin    Rock Creek    Davis D   122   9/2

She’s a tough read, looking like a nice horse in her first four starts, including a runner-up start in the Silverbulletday at FG, but she was twelfth and eleventh in her last two starts, graded races at FG, but she just didn’t show anything in that pair of starts.  She needs to turn it around, and you have to wonder if coming back to the grass is what she needs.
