The Swale Stakes Won by Grandstand Jockey

Night Rider Stables jockey owned Raj with the help of fellow jockey Johnny V found just the right angle and approach to this race, bringing home the nine to one Grandstand Jockey to the winners enclosure here at GP.

  • The Swale Stakes ( Gr. III )- Purse $150.000
  • Gulfstream Park- For Three Year olds
  • Seven Furlongs in Distance- Main track

While this trainer has been focusing Grandstand Jockey’s effort on the grass with the bloodlines of turf champion Bronze Sabre running through his veins, this event may have him placing his focus back onto the dirt footing. While in past races Raj has been sending out this gray to try and win his past affairs with a more frontrunning style, being patient in this affair was the right approach, and should be his future style of running to the wire. The speed in his previous downhiller at SA was just way to fast to maintain, and saving energy seem to work well.

This is Grandstand Jockey’s third win in eight career starts with a record of 8 ( 3-1-2), and will more then likely move to the Gr. III Gotham for his next step towards the TC. If that avenue doesn’t prove to be fruitful, you can guarantee he will back on the turf track in future events.

Runner-up What Moon ( Supremebeast ) was handled exceptional well by jockey Bridgmohan. Jumping quickly out of the gate to get out of his outside position coming out of the chute, then pulled back into the pack for third as he allowed Bob Mueller ( TwinTowersRacing ) and General Obvious ( Arindel ) to pass to his outside. With a much faster second quarter time of 22.61, What Moon would start to make his move towards the front at the top of lane, only to be captured by the eventual winner at the sixteenth pole as he was passing General Obvious. Will definitely fine at better price then 18-1 in his next event.

Final runner in the top three would be Mo Mentum Farm’s Tyrian who just missed by a neck for the second place honors, but his efforts would return $41.80 for his show placing, and complete a $1256.400 trifecta. Shattered Pieces ( Rampage Stable) grabbed the final cash position.

The complete field from first to last was within one second of each other at the line.
