Ten races for ten ITM finishes, you don’t get much better than that. All of her recent races have been in sprints but she saw out the seven furlongs well enough and this tight track with an inside draw will make this nine furlongs doable. I think this filly will go on to be a decent sort at this level and she should be considered a winning chance.

2       Portmeirion         The Sidley Stud        Latchman R

Another real consistent sort in the state bred races she too has a pretty consistent record with 12 ITM finishes from 14 starts. Like Victory Sunset she has been sprinting but again with an inside draw on this tight track the trip wont be a problem. A good second in a state bred stakes last time she has placed in 5 stakes races this year so has always been a contender. Her recent win record worries me a little as she seems to be a bit of a bridesmaid type.

3      Dont Mess With Ruby        First Flight Stable         Araujo D

Another that has been doing well in state breds she has run all her races on the turf so is a bit of an unknown on the main track. Dirt/turf at HRP isn’t like real life so i don’t think it will be a big problem and she will be more at home over this trip than some.

4       Techno Slayer           The Sidley Stud          Bocachica A

If it wasn’t for the penalty system this filly as the only older horse in the race would be an odds on favorite in my books. She could well overcome the 5Lb’s she has to give the rest of the field because not only does she have this years advantage of age but she was also hugely impressive in winning the WV Cavada Breeders Classic last time carrying this same weight.

5         Insist Affair        Asgar            Peltroche F

She is probably the highest achiever out of the three year olds here and because of that may be the biggest danger to Techno Slayer especially on her strong win in a KEE Allowance last time. She is working just as well as Techno Slayer and is getting 5Lbs so she must be a live chance.

6      Slackyjohn           Rheingold Stables         Hiraldo C

Claimed for just ten bucks last time where she disappointed on a wet track she had won two in a row before that so should be competitive enough.

SUMMARY

This should be between Techno Slayer and Insist Affair and i feel the three year old just may have the edge. I would be the one and the two in for third and fourth.
