1 Kayce, trained by Oval Express Farms
Very nearly made it four dead heats from five starts when beaten a nose last time out but none of those dead heats were good enough to get a win and she may find herself outclassed today. She has some decent work times to her name and I think this longer trip will suit her but I could only give her a punchers chance.
2 Glitter N Dust, trained by Sarah Stables
An in and out performer she ran well after two free track wins to be second in the Malvern Rose Stakes last time out but that may not be good enough against the better runners in this race. Like the one horse she will appreciate the trip and has a squeak but I have to look elsewhere for the winner.
3 Marshed, trained by D J C Racing Stables
An experienced and accomplished filly she certainly has the sort of form to win this but will have a few extra pounds to carry if she is to do so. Fourth in the grade one Mother Goose and not beaten far in the KY Oaks the biggest question mark about her is the trip as her last two wins have come over six furlongs and she has yet to get a win in any route race. Her mile work recently was good enough and if the extra weight doesn’t stop her she may be the class option.
4 Quiet Elegance, trained by Mb Stables
A winner of four from her last five she won very easily over course and distance last time out and could well be the dark horse in this race. Whilst her wins have all been in overnights her work times are comparable with the class horses in this race and with the best trainer in the game in her corner you have to give her a huge chance.
5 Midnight Wild, trained by Maxmillion Farm
The second class filly in the race with proven stakes form she was a great second in the SUN Oaks and third in the Black Eyed Susan. She escapes a penalty in this race and again has work times in the top three so you have to like her chances. With just the one win from seven my only fear is that she may lack a turn of foot and with an outside gate she may find it difficult to get the sort of race position she needs to win this race.
SUMMARY
This looks one of those obvious trifectas so I am going for Quiet Elegance as there a couple of question marks about Midnight Wild and Marshed and boxing up those other two for second and third.
