Time And Tide delivered the strongest performance of his young career in the $150.000 Overnight Stakes at Woodbine, taking command approaching the final stages and completing 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:15.81. The Nakamura Stables homebred went off at just under 7-1 and gave owner/trainer Nakamura Stables and jockey Hernandez R M their second victory together from the colt’s first three starts.

The 12-horse field produced a lively opening quarter of :22.2, with Suicide Pilot setting the early standard. Bare Minimum was second, Count Crapula third and Time And Tide fourth as the field headed through the opening stages.

Suicide Pilot continued to show the way at the second call, holding a three-quarter-length advantage. Bare Minimum remained his closest pursuer in second, while Time And Tide improved from fourth to third. Count Crapula followed in fourth, with Pinnacle Deport fifth and Warpaint In Grey sixth.

The complexion of the race changed substantially approaching the third call. Time And Tide advanced from third to take command by a quarter-length. Bare Minimum remained second, while Suicide Pilot surrendered the lead and dropped to third. Count Crapula was fourth, Warpaint In Grey fifth and Night Fighter, who had been eighth and seventh at the first two calls, had advanced to sixth.
