In another great graded stakes race on the turf Tropical Kiss Stormed away from the field early and ran away with the victory in an impressive performance. As soon as the gates opened Tropical Kiss knew exactly where she wanted to be and that was in front of everyone. One furlong into the race Tropical Kiss had opened up a one length lead on the closest competitor, long shot Fashionable Flyer. Two furlongs into the race Fashionable Flyer did not want Tropical Kiss to get away from the field so she rushed up and pulled even with her. This rush up proved to be short lived and by the four furlong mark Tropical Kiss had put away Fashionable Flyer and had opened up a length and a quarter lead on her.

Shortly after this both Speculate and End Times start to move outside of Fashionable Flyer and started to make their move toward the leader Tropical Kiss. With one furlong to go Tropical Kiss had a 3+ length lead on both Speculate and End Times, and Broomsticks Copy was hard closing but 5 lengths back. The final furlong is when the closers started to make their final runs that this long time leader and they were coming quick. The one coming quickest of all was End Times, however her effort would prove to be to little to late falling just a length short when they crossed the wire. Speculate held on for third, but an odd move by the jockey hanging this horse out wide through most of the race could have cost him a better placing. The BC winner Broomsticks Copy was hard closing in the end but could muster no better than a fourth place finish.
