It’s a New York State of Mind as we go up to AQU for The Plenty of Grace, a flat mile event for the older ladies, on the inner turf course, here in Queens.  I’m giving Very Brady the top billing today off of her win at TUP and a solid third at FG, both on the turf.  Another that has been in fine form is Terra Command.  She hasn’t won in a calendar year but she’s been close in a number of stakes, a pair of those were graded races.  Right next door, Lannys All In is another that deserves a serious look.  Throw out that dirt race, last out, and she’s always standing there when they hand out checks.

It’s a very open race, so grab a wobble pop and let’s get a good spot to watch this one.

Here’s The Field –

1
Rebel Girl    Marijane Racing Stab    Gomez Os   123   8/1

She’s changed hands a couple of times while running on the poor side of the tracks, but don’t be fooled, she was third in the SSM F&M Turf back in Jan of last season, so she’s certainly shown ability running with this type.  Let’s see if she can rise to the occasion once again.

2
   Strident    Nj Vets    Carmouche K   123   10/1

Another that has changed hands while running on the cheap but has a couple of starts last season for the new barn.  She was fourth at MTH then just missed closing at SAR over the five and a half furlong distance, both of those on the weeds.  She’s rested and it will be interesting to see what she does off of the bench.

3
   Very Brady    Maletto    Juarez N   125   5/2

Has a stakes win this season taking the Glendale Hcp at TUP and she gets a two pound impost for that victory.  She was third at FG last out facing stakes types in the Benson Mem Stakes.  I think you have to give her a big chance to be in the middle of this one.

4
Dime Piece    First Flight Stable    Navarro K   123   8/1

This one belongs to me, so strike one, and she was fifth in her two recent black-type races.  She won at SAR on wet sod up at the spa, and yeah, to be honest, I’m hoping for a nice thunder storm prior to this one.  She has two wins and two seconds on wet tracks so…

5
Lannys All In    South Beach Racing    McCarthy T   125   7/2

She won the Christlecat at BEL last season so that earns her two extra pounds for this one, and she has been close in a number of races since that win.  She beat one last out, but that was on the main track, so the excuse is obvious.  Give her a look coming back to the green stuff.

6
   Terra Command    Threshold    Worrie A S   123   3/1

Another that has been close in a number of races but hasn’t won since being tagged out of a $20.000 claimer at HAW back in Mar of last season.  All of those have been stakes races, a number of those vs graded types and she seem capable on dirt or grass.  I’d suggesting using her on all tickets today.
