6 Furlongs Dirt Stake Purse $150.000 Filly & Mare 3 Year Olds And Up.

1st Turn On The Lights, trained by D J C Racing Stable
Its always the easy choice to pick the three year olds in these races but you wouldve been hard pushed to pick this three year old out of the bunch. A fairly average worker and with only one decent run in this grade to her name she had to turn round a nine length last in her last start to be competitive today. Well not only did she turn that around she made this bunch look pretty ordinary running in a loose stalk and then pulling away for a comfortable one length win. Apart from her second place in the Duchess you would struggle to find any other form that suggested she was capable of this performance so only time will tell whether this was a HRP random or an improving filly ready to battle for top honors.

2nd Kians Dream, trained by Mb Stables
The winner of four in a row all at much lower level she was of course in the right age group to run a race like this. Drifting to the back early on from her wide draw she made up plenty of ground and finished well to take second. I wonder whether it will be back to mopping up cheap races for her now or this is a leg up to better things, only time will tell.

3rd Cozzene Scandal, trained by Night Rider Stable
Of course she had no chance as a four year old of winning but she ran a pretty good race to be a one paced third. In the stalk early she kept giving all the way but despite far superior form she could not beat the weight allowance.

4th Silver Setbus, trained by Ekli Stable
Showed her neck second in the Prioress to be a bit of a flash in the pan running on late to take fourth. Far superior to her three year old rivals in respect to works and form she found a way to lose today by going too far back from her inside draw.
