Twelve Fillies Ready to Do Battle in DMR Debutante

9/10/22

Baby races…  ughhhh.  My boss hates me.   But we get a full field of twelve 2yo fillies set to go seven panels as the DMR meet is headed into the closing hours.  But the DMR Debutante (GI) is a huge race for these up and coming stars and I landed on Be Patient as the top choice.  Mb has been hot and this undefeated filly checks all the boxes.  She’s three-for-three and that win in the ELP Debutante was titillating.  I’ll go to the far outside and give Sioux Gathering a big chance today.  That win at SAR in the Schuylerville (GIII) was a real head-turner.. and I think her running style will take the bad post out of the picture.  Let’s put the other undefeated filly, Nebulistic, in the mix, as well.  I like that she’s won over this track, and she should be in the middle of things when they turn for home.

Here’s The Field –

1
   Ignore Tucker    Fractious    Centeno D E   120   3/1

For a stable that reports to be headed out, plunking down $1,200.000 on this one says otherwise.  She looks like a nice one, winning three in a row including that last out graded victory over this course in the Sorority Stakes (GII).  Sharp trainer, so this could be the one to beat.

2
Berry Chai    Allinthegate    Fuentes Ru   120   9/2

Solid performer that hasn’t run a bad race in her trio of starts.  She was second in the Debutante at CD and just missed last out vs high end Alw types at SAR.  She’s a horse that looks the part and with her fourth start, I’d expect continued growth… watch her.

3
Your Demise    Luz International    Rispoli U   120   7/1

Had her three-race win streak broken, but nothing to be ashamed of when third in the Sorority Stakes (GII) here at DMR.  She had been whippin’-up on TX bred types prior to that, but proved she can run with the big horses, so look for another big effort today.

4
Rabbit Bay    Smokey Stover    Bravo J   120   10/1

Another that doesn’t seem to run a bad race, never worse than fourth in five starts.  She just missed over this course last out while facing Cal-bred stakes company, and she closed fast in the late stages of that one.  Another sharp barn, so she’s eligible to continue improvement.

5
Our Sis    Our Athletes    Talamo J   120   12/1

Only two starts for this one, so a bit of a wild-card here.  She broke maiden over this track last out and did it in quick time… add in that she was third at SA in her debut and you can tell that she has class and ability.  Now, can she run with the best?  We find out today.

6
   Double Dragon    Fractious    Moran D   120   7/1

Only three starts from this one and she’s been tough at every turn, breaking maiden at first asking, running third in the Debutante at CD then taking down NM bred stakes company at RUI in her most recent.  I like her and I think she will be heard from.

7
Super Bella    Arindel    Gonzalez Ru   120   6/1

Hasn’t been worse than second in three starts, and that was in her debut, coming back to break maiden at PRX then won a nice Alw race at SAR, so it’s up the ladder and certainly expected.  She looks like any type and I think you have to give her consideration off of that SAR win in quick time.

8
Be Patient    Mb Stables    Beschizza A   120   7/2

The big stable just keeps finding monster after monster and this home-bred sure does look the part.  Undefeated in three races and took the ELP Debutante in her most recent… and as I said in that race, I was more surprised that she was 6/1 than that she won.  Look for more here.

9
Nebulistic    Barcelona Farms    Van Dyke D   120   7/2

Another undefeated filly and this one has a win over the course.  She won the CEBA Stakes vs Cal breds in her most recent trip to the gate, won that open stakes at SA.. yeah, she can flat out haul the mail and must be given a big look in this one as well.

10
   Temperature    Aer Stables    Elliott S   120   6/1

Won her first two races, including that stakes at WO, then tired to be seventh in the Sorority Stakes (GII) over this course, last out.  This barn is very sharp with a young horse, and they know what they have – she’s no here just to be an gate filler, and I’d look for a big effort.

11
   Nadelle    Alydar Stables    Alvarado F T   120   5/1

She broke maiden at WO in her second start, then came back to be third in the ELP Debutante in her most recent.  That’s certainly nothing to be ashamed of, and she’s proven that she can run with this type of competition, so I’d give her a chance today.

12
   Sioux Gathering    Rock Creek    Hernandez J J   120   4/1

She’s won two of three starts and was third in the other race, breaking maiden at GP in her first start, then was third in the Astoria at BEL, only to come back in the Schuylerville (GIII) to gain the victory in fine fashion.  This could be a monster.
