The Matron – GIII

BEL Race 3 6F – Turf
Purse $100.000
Two Year Olds Fillies
A field of twelve two year old fillies have been entered up for the Matron here at Belmont. A full field for this turf sprint should make a very interesting race. Let’s look at the runners.
1. Party Till You Cough (3-2-0-1 $57.000), trained by Aer Stables
First up here in the field is this filly who won her last start which was at Albuquerque going five furlongs. This will be her first start on turf but the works are pretty good. May have a chance here.
2. Titusville (4-1-1-1 $41.280), trained by Barcelona Farms
Next up here and this filly is coming into this race off of a win against Florida bred maidens. She won nicely that day but this is a big jump in class. She will have to run a big race to win this one.
3. Bonito Partido Rene (4-1-1-0 $64.700), trained by Maxmillion Farm
Now to this filly here and she is coming into this race off of a subpar effort in a stakes race at Woodbine going five furlongs on the grass. She will have to step it up big time to win this one.
4. Adrift At Sea (3-1-0-0 $20.400), trained by Threshold
Up next here is another filly who is making her first start ever on the grass. She has ran two out of the money races in stakes but I think she could have an okay shot in this race if she takes to the grass.
5. Chicken Foot (1-0-1-0 $6.000), trained by Night Rider Stables
A maiden in the field here and this filly was second I’m her debut race at Golden Gate. I think this entry is based purely off of the workouts but I just can’t go with the maiden here.
6. Cp The Sunsets Alive (2-1-0-] $30.000), trained by Childs Play
Now to this filly who broke her maiden in her last start at Santa Anita on the downhill turf course. I think she won nicely that day but will have to show some improvement off of the win.
7. Intolerable (5-2-3-0 $123.600), trained by Mb Stables
A stakes winner in the field here and she won the Catch A Glimpse up at Woodbine in her last start. She should be pretty tough in here so I think she will have a good shot.
8. Forged Steel (3-1-1-0 $59.000), trained by Mb Stables
Second for Mb Stables in this race and she was second in a stakes race at Gulfstream on a bad turf course last time. She could have a decent shot in this one also.
9. Ultimately Flawed (6-2-1-1 $50.200), trained by Williams9
Next up here is one with a lot ofturf experience and he she ran in a stake at Woodbine last time and ended up finishing fourth. She could have an outside chance at winning this race I think.
10. Opus Jinx (4-1-1-0 $36.200), trained by Arindel
Here to this filly next and she broke her maiden against Florida bred maiden special weight runners. It was five furlongs on the turf but a big step up here so she’ll need to run a big race to win.
11. Fun At Parties (2-1-0-0 $30.000), trained by Aarons Hosses
Obviously turf is what this filly needed as she broke her maiden in a maiden special weight at Ellis last time. She won nicely and if she can work out a trip from out here she could have an okay chance.
12. Bohemian Bourbon (4-2-0-0 $57.600), trained by Smokey Stover
Last up here is another one coming out of that stake at Woodbine and she was sixth that day. She won the two outs before that but it’s going be tough from this post.
13. Confrontational (3-1-1-1 $16.880), trained by Mo Mentum Farm

Summary
A pretty good field here with one that I think is maybe just a little better than the rest and that is the stakes winner in the field. She is my top choice. Good luck to all in the field.
