TX Stallion Stakes – Avenger
$75.00 For Colts And Geldings Two Years Old Foaled In TX
5 Furlongs – Dirt
Lone Star Park – July 11, 2026
Two year old thoroughbreds. Is there anything that can keep you going or break your heart like a two year old you have hopes for and think shows some talent?
1. Knuckleball (Luz International/F. Wethey Jr.) Won his debut race which was a TX bred MSW at this track and he was immediately awarded with being gelded. Has not run since that April 19 debut but seems to be working well and comes from the leading TX breeder which has three entries in this race. Adds Bute.
2. Blade (Broken Spoke Stables/R.E. Eramia) Won a TX bred MSW in May on unveiling by two pretty authoritative lengths but then finished a fading seventh in his next start but that one was on a muddy track. There is no available forecast for Saturday but throw that race out as he is working quickly when it’s dry and that first race was too good to just discount him offhand.
3. Fold Em (Luz International/D. Cabrera) One start. One win. The win was a four furlong MSW at the end of April. He is being asked to go a furlong more in this race but that seems negligible as he was drawing away in that first start. Works are on par with the field and he adds Lasix.
4. Scherzer (Luz International/J.L. Alvarez) Scrappy debut win by a hard fought head in the middle of April and comes back with Bute off of a couple of sharp works. The third entry from Luz International.
5. Resist Power (T Boy Racing/L.J. Luzzi) The most seasoned entry in the field with three starts under his belt. He narrowly missed breaking his maiden in his first two starts and hit the wire first in his last race where he fought for the win by a scant nose. His last work was quick and matches anyone here.
6. Electric Scooter (Broken Spoke Stables/E. Asmussen) Add him to the list of the undefeated coming into this race but he stands out in two distinct ways. He came from off the pace in his debut maiden breaker and he put up a 93 SRF speed figure which is the highest in the field. There isn’t a whole lot of history on anyone’s resume but most of the field has been on the front end so his style may suit in this race.
7. Adsi Knight (Bigchief Stables/R.A. Vasquez) You guessed it. Undefeated colt comes into this race with a MSW win in mid April. Has not been seen since but is slated to start with Lasix and Bute so assume he has been off working on his adds and what optimizes his speed.
8. Electric French (T Boy Racing/A.J. Juarez Jr) Broke his maiden at this track in a TX bred MSW like several in the field. He opened up by daylight in that win and he draws outside so it seems likely he will be forwardly placed which seems to be the case for just about everyone in the field.
Two year olds with very little on their resumes makes races challenging to handicap with any real degree of confidence or consistent accuracy. Electric Scooter is the pick though based on his highest SRF and running style which would seem to likely benefit from a hot pace. It’s pretty much a crap shoot but place the following behind him: Blade, Scherzer and Knuckleball.
