The Spinaway- GI [BC]
SAR Race 6 7F- Dirt
Purse $350.000
Two Year Olds Fillies
A group of ten two year old fillies will be contesting the Spinaway over the Saratoga oval and they’re going to try and earn a free spot in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies. It’s a good field and there is some pretty nice fillies in here. Let’s take a look at the field and see who the winner of the race is.
1. Grayte Creek (3-1-1-0 $37.800), trained by Estero Farms
This filly from the Estero Farms barn broke her maiden two back and then ran an alright fifth Schuylerville last out against graded stakes company. She ran nice that day and actually only got beat a length to run fifth. I think she has a longshot chance in here if she runs like she did last time.
2. Artificial (3-1-2-0 $71.000), trained by Mb Stables
This filly is coming into this race off of a maiden special weight win here at Saratoga and she ran a big race that day in the slop to break her maiden and earn a shot in this race. It will be her first time against winners and it’s with the best of the beat so she’ll need to run a huge race to win.
3. Silk Tree (4-1-0-2 $75.000), trained by Alydar Stables
This filly broke her maiden in her first career start and then ran two thirds including a third in the Schuylerville two races back. She ran fifth in the Adirondack on the mud last out and will now try the third stakes race in a row here at the spa. She has a little chance to win but will need to run huge.
4. Love Struck Baby (3-3-0-0 $212.400), trained by D J C Racing Stables
The undefeated filly coming out of D J C Racing Stables barn is coming off of a win in the grade three Schuylerville. Before that she won a maiden special weight and then she won the Astoria at Belmont. If she runs like she has been she will be very tough to beat and she will be my top pick in here.
5. Systematically (3-1-0-1 $20.200), trained by Oquinn Farm
A nine dollar claim the day she won she ran third last out in an allowance race here at the spa and that was a very good run from her being how she had just won a nine dollar maiden claimer. She has a shot in here if she improves off of her last race and it’s her second start for Oquinn Farm.
6. Twist Green (4-1-0-0 $36.400), trained by Williams9
This filly has ran in stakes her last two starts but not much has happened in either of them. She ran fifth in her first stakes try and then ran fourth last time in a statebred stakes race at Del Mar. I don’t think she is this quality of a horse but who knows what will happen with her in here.
7. First Impression (3-1-1-0 $63.040), trained by Mb Stables
The second filly from Mb Stables is also coming off of a maiden special weight here at Saratoga and she won by a length that day. She ran a big race and if she improves off of that race that puts her in here with a chance. She will also need to run the race of her life to win though but maybe she can do it.
8. Make You Blush (3-1-1-0 $47.400), trained by Rampage Stable
Another one who is coming out of the grade three Schuylerville. She ran sixth by a length that day and didn’t run bad at all. Before that she won a maiden race and then was jumped up and proved she can hang with the big ones. She has a chance is she can make up that length on some of them.
9. Good For Nowt (4-1-1-0 $45.010), trained by Diablo Diablo
This filly has also been tested in a stakes race. She ran fourth in the Debutante at Churchill last out. She ran pretty good that day really and should improve off of that race and should like the extra distance because she was closing last time. If she runs like last time she has an alright shot to get the money.
10. Z Command (3-1-0-1 $40.200), trained by Joshua Stables
Last but not least is this filly right here and she is also coming out of the grade three Schuylerville. She came rolling that day to get up for fourth and she only got beat by a length. She won her maiden race by six lengths so she is a quality filly and definitely has a big chance to win.
Summary
This is a very good race that we have here and there is some pretty nice fillies that are going to be lining up. My top pick is the undefeated filly Love Struck Baby and my second pick will be Z Command. It should be a very good race and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a couple on the wire at the end of the race.
