Very Solid Field for The Dandy

                             The Dandy – GII
                     SAR Race 11 1 1/8M – Dirt
                             Purse $600.000
                             Three Year Olds

The other big race on the weekend for three year olds second to only the thousand dollar Haskell. It’s no slouch of a race and I’d even say it could go toe to toe with the Haskell and I’m sure some will even say it’s a tougher race than the other one. Let’s take a look at the field of eleven.

1. Indistinguishable (12-6-3-0 $2,759.500), trained by Mb Stables

This big horse in the race and my top pick has been on a roll this year winning the Arkansas Derby and Preakness Stakes and then ran a big second in the Belmont Stakes to only be beat by a length. He looks like a big standout in here to me and looks like he will be tough to beat if he is ready to go.

2. Steel Tunes (10-6-2-0 $498.020), trained by John Henry

Here is a horse who is just on fire every time he runs winning five in a row including three stakes and two of them graded stakes. Last out he romped in the Ohio Derby by four lengths which you hardly ever see. He is in top form and running good every time he goes in the gates so he has a chance.

3. Dream Controlled (10-4-1-1 $1,248.440), trained by Mb Stables

The second horse from Mb Stables barn is another who is very accomplished. Last out he won the prestigious Belmont Stakes by a neck over his stablemate who is also in this race in Indistinguishable. He is another who will be very live and has a pretty good chance and is my second choice.

4. Zombie City (11-3-5-1 $1,090.200), trained by Pan Farms

Another accomplished runner who won a couple triple crown prep races and ran in the Kentucky Derby where he finished third. His last start was in the Belmont Stakes where he disappointed and ran nowhere to be beaten six lengths and finished twelfth. I think he has a chance going a shorter distance though.

5. Lane Frost (10-4-2-0 $401.440), trained by Sanny Village

Here is the entry from the late great Sanny Village who won the Fountain Of Youth and ran in all three legs of the triple crown also. He ran thirteenth in the Derby, eighth in the Preakness and sixteenth and last in the Belmont. It looks like he has lost a step since the prep races and is out of form bad.

6. Mistress Seeker (11-3-1-1 $179.070), trained by Aer Stables

Here is the Aer Stables runner who will be trying to make it back to back wins in this race for his owner. He is coming off of a win in the Affirmed at SA by a length. Aer Stables is pretty confident with this horse and should run a big race I think. He will have to improve a bit to win but I think he can.

7. Local Hero (11-2-3-2 $240.480), trained by D J C Racing Stables

The only entry from D J C Racing Stables here is another horse who was a participant in the Kentucky Derby. He ran tenth in there but did come back in the grade three Winn and ran third and didn’t run too bad that day. He will have to step up tremendously though I think to have a chance to win.

8. Living Healthy (11-2-2-2 $226.380), trained by First Class Stable

This colt trained by First Class Stable hasn’t hit the board since he won a grade two at CD back in last November as a two year old. He’s been out of form for a long time and I don’t see him getting into good form all of sudden in this spot. Looks like he will be out of the money in here unless a surprise happens.

9. Dirty Brazilian (5-1-1-0 $22.120), trained by Nj Vets

This horse here won his first out on the free track and then hit the board in his last two outs to make up his earnings. He ran big at MTH last time in a stake which consists of most of his earnings but I just don’t see him winning. He’s a big longshot and probably wont be anywhere close.

10. Dastardly Havoc (11-2-1-2 $360.400), trained by Smokey Stover

This Smokey Stover trained runner is coming off of a third place finish in the Ohio Derby last out. Before that he won the Salvator Mile at MTH against older horses and did it pretty nicely. He is going to have to improve a lot from his last start but I think the room for the improvement is there.

11. Charleys Agent (12-3-4-0 $387.700), trained by Mb Stables

Scratched

12. Simple Request (11-3-3-1 $893.120), trained by Saratoga Stud
Another one who ran in the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes here he ran eleventh in the first leg of the triple crown and sixth in the third leg. He won the BG Stakes this spring on the way to the Kentucky Derby so he has a little bit of class. He will need to run big to win in this spot though.

Summary

Well I think this race really rides on the two Mb Stables runners in the one and three post and if they get clean trips or not. Indistinguishable looks the toughest out of them all though but I could definitely see other winning also. It looks like a tough race and good luck to everyone in the race.
