When One Winner is Not Enough, The Rebel Gives Us Two

The Rebel – Grade II [KYD]
1 1/16 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $900.000 Open 3 Year Olds.

=1st Jolly Be Native, trained by Kopites
With all the wide gated horses chosing restrain Jolly Be Native managed to get a very soft lead early on. With sluggish splits he began to pile it on from halfway and had them all in trouble on the turn. As they hit the stretch he kept on very gamely to eventually dead heat for the win. This was a welcome return to form for the very good two year old and he heads to the KYD with an in form stable and some very good looking form.

=1st Lord High Admiral, trained by John Henry
The widest 4 horses all chose to fly to the back of the field into the trail and whilst it left things open for the winner it also gave this horse a chance to fly home late. In the past when drawn wide he has been forced into the lead by the wide gate speed push so his trainer seems to have negated that effect with an instruction that certainly worked today. This very fast worker will now head to the KYD and will love the extra trip.

3rd Slither, trained by Night Mare Racing
Stalked the leader and kept on really well for third beaten under a length. He is a very consistent sort and this was another sound effort.

4th All Memories, trained by Mb Stables
One of the wide gates who was hauled to the back with the rest of them he flew home late to be fourth just a length off the winner. The slow pace was always going to make it hard for the closers and he did pretty well in the end.
