Which of the Big Three Will Move to KYO Favoritism After Alexandra Stakes?

Alexandra Stakes – Grade II [KYO]
FG Race #10 1 1/16m Dirt Graded Stake
Purse $300.000 For Fillies Three Years Old.

1 Juilliard Mo Mentum Farm Centeno D E

Gets the ace draw which will help her chances as she look to need a length or two to win this race. An on pace type she won her maiden well enough but that was only at GG and she would have to have improved to be a contender today.

2 Modesta Patterson Stables Saez L

She has moved through her gears nicely and took her maiden last time with a sustained late run. A strong work sets her up nicely here and she may be just the sort to surprise a few of these.

3 One Awesome Night High Voltage Rosario J

Won on debut and then ran well enough in the Tah Dah to be considered for more stakes racing. She didn’t however run again as a two year old but instead found herself in the auctions where she was bought for $22. Her seasonal debut run was super staying on nicely over this trip to be third. She gets a decent draw for the first time in her career today so i expect a big run.

4 Intolerable Mb Stables Gaffalione T

Mb Stables seems to be over their little protest of last week as we once again see their runners in the stakes races. This fairly experienced filly has been really consistent and despite most of her form being in turf sprints she put down a 1.37 and 1 dirt work suggesting this sort of race could be on her radar.

5 Story To Tell Mb Stables Davis D

One of the class runners in the race she too hails from Mb Stables and will probably start the warn favorite. Her running style is a worry with the new race engine but i am sure Mb will negotiate a path for her. Her win in the Santa Ynez last time following a Golden Rod win is head and shoulders above these.

6 Top Billing Smokey Stover Bridgmohan S X

The trainer is quickly becoming a dominant force at HRP and this filly is just the sort to continue their run. Winner of her last two over this trip and worked a 1.37 flat at the end of the year putting her well within this sort of level.

7 Mayflower Crocker Ggs Stein J

Third to Story To Tell in the Santa Ynez it is hard to see her turning that around and may again find that filly too good. Having said that she won her three previous races and that run certainly puts her in the top three.

8 Secret Eyes Fractious Cedillo A

Well if there is a challenger to Story To Tell it is this one who is a dual grade one winner. Sandwiched between her Frizette and Starlet wins was a poor effort in the BC Juvenile fillies but she had excuses that day so shouldn’t be judged on that. Her works are strong and she is certainly a winning chance.

9 Tall And Fast Arindel Saez G

A nice enough sort she was behind Story To Tell in the Golden Rod from the perfect draw and gets a sticky gate today so will struggle to turn the tables. Se will win good races but this is a tough field and she may struggle to break into the top four despite some encouraging works.

10 Feral Impact Mb Stables – Scratch –

11 Hot Summer D J C Racing Stables Velazquez J R

This one has it all, one of the best works in the race at 1.36 and 3 for the mile and some great form including a nose second in the BC Juvenile Fillies. She confirmed two grade one placings didn’t make her a bridesmaid when taking the Demoiselle in her last start and the only sticking point to her making a successful start to 2021 maybe this nasty draw.

12 Match On A Fire Alydar Stables Bejarano R

Second in te Golden Rod a line through the winner that day makes it hard to see her turning the tables from this poor gate. A good sort whose day will come but i am not sure it will be today.

13 Silly Destiny Nakamura Stables Carrasco V R

Not only does she get the car park but she was beaten in a $15 claimer last time suggesting that the Nak Factor will have to be on overdrive to see her winning.

SUMMARY

This looks to be between Hot Summer, Secret Eyes and Story To Tell who certainly stand out in this competitive field. It is hard to settle on one but i will go for Hot Summer to defy her rotten draw today.
