1 Hollywood Greek Chili King Stables Ortiz J L

A stakes winner at two this filly won the mile and sixteenth Jessamine by an easy two lengths but then for some reason decided that she couldn’t stay a dot past six furlongs. That was never more clearly demonstrated when after running a half length second in the grade two Monrovia Stakes over five and a half furlongs she was beaten twenty two lengths in the BEL Oaks. True she doesn’t like an off track but it was too bigger defeat to be blamed entirely on the wet ground.
Her form seems even more confusing because she seems to lack consistency so whilst on her best day she could easily win from this nice draw on her worst form she would struggle to finish in the top five.

2 Sci Fi South Beach Racing Alvarado J

Gets the perfect gate but may need to improve on her form to date. She was really consistent last year and started 2021 off nicely with a gutsy win in the Abundantia on New Years Day. A tough sort who will run her heart out but she may just be lacking the class of a couple of these.

3 Dodge Challenger John Henry Lanerie C J

Lightly raced as a five year old she ended last year with a nice second in the Maddy Stakes and a gutsy run in open company. She is a fast type who gets a nice gate to work with and she also has the slight advantage over the four year olds that she is racing off level weights this year.
A solid chance.

4 Sierra Madre Spankys Barn Bravo J

She has been kncking on the door of this level but hasn’t really broken through in her 27 races so far. She ran the race of a late improving type last time in the Las Cienegas and that also gives her a fitness edge on some of her rivals. Fast enough to be a danger of she can break well enough.

5 Call Craze Alydar Stables Castellano J J

Another that looked to be a router as a two year old after winning the Miss Grillo and finishing third in the BC Juvenile Fillies she seems to have been campaigned in sprints for the most part since. She hasn’t matched that juvenile form but has been pretty consistent at lower levels and has also started 2021 with a win in the Coady Stakes at TUP. Her works suggest she is right on the mark for this race so again much will come down to how she gets out of the gate.

6 Royally Bred High Voltage Rosario J

This is a very even field of fillies and mares and this ones form looks very similar to many of these. Fourth in the Maddy only a half behind Dodge Challenger she had previously won the Unzip Me Stakes. Works and form suggest she is right in this.

7 Brilliant Snowflake Lemax Farms Kimura K

This looks like an ambitious entry with just the one win from fourteen starts and no real form at this level. Her works and form coupled with her draw make her an outsider.

8 Pink Kitten Threshold Lopez P

There is no doubt this filly is fast but she struggled a bit last year as some four year olds do and needs to recapture her three year old form to have a chance form this awkward barrier draw. A solid pick to be in the top four.

SUMMARY

This is a tight looking race. Hollywood Greek could win if she is at her best but is so inconsistent it is hard to make her your first choice. Pink Kitten could do well if the wide gate isn’t too tough and Dodge Challenger could roar home.
