KEE Race #1 1 1/2m Turf Graded Stake
Purse $150.000 For Fillies And Mares Four Years Old And Upward.

1 Blue Jeans First Class Stable Lanerie C J

With only two wins from eighteen starts you could be forgiven in thinking this filly is just an average sort but the facts say she is far from that. One of those wins was just a maiden but the second was when she dead heated with grade one winner Jinxed Queen in the Black Eyed Susan. She then went on to be a half length second to another grade one winner in La Terrifiant in the American oaks. In between she has been a little disappointing but always runs well and is usually a contender at whatever level she runs. She continues to work strongly and this ace draw maybe OK for her so once again she should be in among it at the end.

2 Snow Doll Oliver Klozov Ortiz I Jr

This five year old has a good record with eight wins but they are all at a lower grade and she was recently claimed for $20.000. She won well enough at Allowance level on seasonal debut but then failed badly in the Suwanee River when a well beaten seventh of eight. She deserves a crack at this but i cant see her in the top two or three even with the A1 draw.

3 Smokin Nebulae Drabfantasy Velazquez J R

This classy six year old has amassed over a thousand dollars in prize money including four grade three wins this race last year among them. She certainly has the experience and class to win this and she is proven at the trip with a great draw so there are plenty of positives. If you wanted a reason to get her beat today it may be the fact that she looked under par last time when seventh in the Endeavor and at HRP decline in older horses can happen overnight so its always a consideration. Her works are still strong though so i am willing to give her another chance.

4 Fancy Princess Alabarda Stable Ortiz J L

This entry looks a bit hopeful considering her form but there is a little whiff of a chance there if you probe a little deeper and use your imagination. She has had two runs on turf and done pretty well in both suggesting there may be a few lengths more in her on this surface. She has also done pretty well in longer distance races so with a good enough draw and maybe a little more luck than others she may be the one to surprise.

5 Midnight Sneaking Invicta Group Llc Gaffalione T

Another one that isnt proven in this class she is a consistent type and deserves her chance after a running on fourth in the Orchid last time. She proved in her two previous races this year that she is a developing turf distance runner with two wins in good style so she is not with out chances in this race.

6 Moon Car Crocker Ggs Hernandez B J Jr

She was a rapidly improving three year old moving from an easy allowance win to an easy win in the Grade three Regret. She continued that form to win the Valley View and finish a good third in the grade two Miss Revere. Her two starts this year have been fairly good with a fifth in the Endeavor and a narrow defeat in overnight company. She is an on pace type and if she is allowed to bowl along unchallenged in front she may be very hard to peg back over this stamina sapping mile and a half.

7 Nice Laff Phooey Maxmillion Farm Bridgmohan S X

Another one with good enough form for this she hails from an in form stable that can do little wrong at the moment and those two factors will bring her plenty of support. She has won races from sprints to routes but notably ran arguably her best race when winning the Marshua River Stakes last time out which is always a good sign. She is far from a clear favorite but probably has the best recent form for a race like this.

8 Oaks Team 7 Illusions Castellano J J

She has done well since switching to turf winning her maiden last July and also her last start in overnight company. In between she was tested in black type and struggled a little so whilst she is a decent enough filly i can’t see her in the top three from this difficult draw.

9 Hide N Seek Pup Gdp Inc Beschizza A

This is a very nice mare who would have a much better chance if drawn in a little but she gets the wide gate and will have to be in top form to overcome it. She has three grade three wins to her name and also a third a grade one level and has proved in her two starts this year that she is every bit as good at age six. A hugely impressive win on seasonal debut in an open allowance was followed by a very solid third in The Very One and on those two starts she certainly rates somewhere in the top three. Rain could help her here as she is proven on it and in may negate the wide draw.

SUMMARY

I like Hide N Seek Pup is she can overcome the wide draw or it rains, if the race engine is unkind to her then there are plenty of other chances with Nice Laff Phooey, Moon Car and Smokin Nebulae waiting to pounce.
