Who Will Have No Regrets After Regret?

Regret – Grade III
CD Race #7 1 1/8m Turf Graded Stake
Purse $125.000 For Fillies Three Years Old.

1 Lannys All In South Beach Racing Bridgmohan S X

There is plenty of form in this race and this one has a great last start to boost his chances from an inside draw. She learnt her trade in lower grade picking up a little stakes race as a juvenile and generally running over sprint trips. That all changed however in her last start when she took on the Edgewood in her first ever route race and ran a very good third running home strongly. It has taken a while for the trainer to get her over a trip but she ran with great promise that day and should be competitive today.

2 Milk And Honey Hunterman Stable Hernandez B J Jr

A consistent filly in lower grade than this but she has never been outside the first four and her win at WO last time was in a very good time and had black type potential written all over it. The extra furlong here shouldn’t prove a problem and she gets the best draw in the whole game to do it from.

3 Spirit Nav TwinTowersRacing Geroux F

She is a bit of a late developer breaking her maiden late last year. She raced on dirt until her first start on turf last time where she ran like the surface suited finishing second in a GG Optional Claimer. I am not sure she is up to some of these but will be competitive.

4 Hawaii County Mb Stables Court J K

Another that raced on the dirt for the first part of her career she has raced exclusively on turf this year and looks to be taking to it nicely. Like all the horses in this stable she is working fast times and lived up to those last time after a couple of OK starts in overnights to take the ungraded Memories Of Silver. I wouldn’t give her much more than an average chance if she wasn’t from this stable but your have to respect anything they run.

5 Dream Scheme Jive Inc. Gaffalione T

A turfer all her life she has a great strike rate and fetched the sort of price that only good horses do when being bought by Jive Inc at the start of the year. She weakened out of the FL Oaks on her first start for the new stable after trying to make all of the running but found cover last time out when gamely winning the Golden Poppy by a nose. This is the right race for her to to another step up.

6 Pressima Our Athletes Lanerie C J

Took five goes to break her maiden but then won again in her very next race suggesting the penny has finally dropped. This is her first race on turf so is a bit of a fact finding mission but she could well be the bolter as sometimes at HRP that first start on a new surface can bring about a good run.

7 Savage War Queen Whitewater Stables Garcia Mar

Won three in a row including the grade three Providencia Stakes but failed in the Edgewater last time when tackling a wider draw in the first time. She made up ground in that race but will need to break much better to have a chance today with the extra 2Lb penalty for that grade three win.

8 Ginger Shamanism Greyfriars Stable Beschizza A

Made all last time to win the grade three Santa Barbara Stakes and is clearly a good sort but she had things her own way in a small field that day and will find it tougher here The extra weight and the wide draw will be a big test for her but if she overcomes it she will be worth putting in the black book for her next run.

9 Versailles D J C Racing Stables Saez G

Stuck out in the cheap seats we find this filly who has proved a little inconsistent in her recent starts. Three good wins surround two poor efforts but as her last start was her only run on turf we may find that she finds consistency on this surface. her works are very good so one worth putting into calculations

SUMMARY

A tricky race. The two recent grade three winners have penalties and wide draws so it may pay to find another one. I think Lannys All In could be a good chance along with Milk and Honey and as the draw favors them i will box the in the exacta.
