Will The Field be “Handcuffed” in Valley View?

Going runner-up last time by in the Gr. II Mabee Stakes, Blondewithhandcuffs ( Mb Stables ) will definitely be looking to add win number three of the season, while rider Johnny V is closing in on 250 victories for the year.

  • Valley View ( Gr. III ) Purse $150.000
  • Keeneland- For Fillies Three Years old
  • One Mile and one Sixteenth – Turf course
  • October 18th, 2019

It seems like only yesterday we were discussing the Triple Crown races and now here we are just weeks away from the Breeders Cup events. While the Valley View has no win and your in effect, these runs would like nothing more then to gain their first ever Graded title with this event. Blondewithhandcuffs looks to be the obvious choice today, but six other entries have other plans.

Weight: 122 Pounds

Changes: Permeated– Adds Bute.

1 Chai Command ( John Henry ) Record: 11( 3-2-1) Bravo J- Has all three of her victories on the grass in eight career starts. Attempted the Gr. I DMR Oaks in mid August and closed to be within a length of the eventual winner. Went runner-up earlier in the season in the Gr. III Senorita at a mile, and the time off should have her refreshed. Prime post to make a showing.

2 French Box ( Threshold ) Record: 9 ( 2-0-3 ) Saez G– Has remained winless since her opener back at the start of the season when she captured a restricted Alw39 race at PRX. Has grabbed two show finishes in her most recent two starts but has been unable to break the SRF 90 rating level in her past six starts. Could struggle for a top two. Fringe effort.

3 Antivenom ( Team 7 Illusions ) Record: 11 ( 3-1-2 ) Landeros C- This will be the first off the shelf for this trainer after the purchase in mid September. So looking at recent works, he has been getting a feel for this surface in his past two. Another who competed in the DMR Oaks in August, had the services of Velazquez for that race, but he has gone elsewhere today. Still should be in the hunt.

4 Permeated ( TwinTowersRacing ) Record: 12 ( 1-4-2 ) Lanerie C J– This bay has just one career win to her credit and that was her maiden victory in the mud at Calder. Has been the Maid of Honor in three of her six starts this year, and would definitely like to walk down the aisle as the bride today. Would have loved to see an off track, but this will be a struggle once again. Can the Bute help??

5 Laffer ( Our Athletes ) Record: 10 ( 3-2-0 ) Beschizza A– One of two entered her who earned a 95 SRF figure coming out of her most recent. When she is within three of the front early on, she has enough kick to get the job done. Her last victory came in the $75 ELP Turf Stakes and that was with the services of today’s rider. These two getting back together may just spark a chord once again, and will be in a photo here.

6 Weddy Weddy ( Night Rider Stables ) Record: 7 ( 2-1-1) Gaffalione T– Has attempted the grass in three of her career starts, with just one victory coming in a restricted NY Alw77 affair over at the Spa. Ro Maragh has been the only rider to take her to victory, so her new rider has his work cutout for him here. Makes the ship here in just three days from her last work at RP, and that may weigh on her.

7 Blondewithhandcuffs ( Mb Stables ) Record: 10 ( 3-2-2 ) Velazquez J- Should go off as the post time favorite coming off her runner-up effort in the Gr. II Mabee. Has the top jockey this season for victories and her recent works are top notch. Should be full of charge late, and with this moderate size field, traffic will not be an issue for her. Top pick.
