The TAM Stakes – Grade III
1 1/16 Mile Turf Stake Purse $175.000 Open 4 Year Olds And Up.
1st Winchester Maxmillion Farm Ferrer J C
This trainer must be loving the new engine because i certainly seem to be writing a lot about their horses under the new system. Whilst i tipped this one to win i certainly didn’t think he would beat Fuji by so far but he was hugely impressive today and even at this early stage of the year i would put him as a main contender for the BC Turf later in the year.
2nd Red Arrow Estero Farms Bridgmohan S X
The winner was clearly best here but there was a big line up for the rest of the purse money and this one just managed to nose his way into second. It is surprising that it has been so long since he won a race but on this showing it wont be much longer.
3rd= City Watch John Henry Bahen S R
Stayed on well from a tough draw and a tough trip and was a bit of a black booker in the process. Lightly raced and improving i am sure he will find a good race when he gets a decent barrier.
3rd= Bubble Bubble Angelos Stable Bejarano R
It looked a bit like the old days as the wide gate saw this one go to the front before weakening out. His last three races are worth studying because his race form certainly seems very much linked to his draw. Still a decent third place finish in a tough race so i am sure there will be more to come from the four year old.
