Without Warning gave TwinTowersRacing a major Grade II victory in the OP Handicap on April 18, 2026, digging in through the final stages to prevail in a blanket finish at 1 1/8 miles over a good track. Geroux F had the 4-year-old colt in striking range throughout, and when the race tightened late, Without Warning found enough to finish the job. The son of Neon Wolf stopped the clock in 1:48.82 and added $620.00 to his 2026 bankroll with a determined performance in a $1,250.00 event.
The OP Handicap brought together a deep older dirt group, and the result reflected that quality. The finish was compact, with the first several runners still in contention well into the lane, and the pace structure allowed more than one horse a real shot at the prize. Without Warning got the decision, Criminal Law delivered a much bigger run than his odds suggested, and Edward The Good stayed on to round out the trifecta after being in the thick of it throughout.
Race Recap
The early lead belonged to Individuation, who showed the way at the first call and was still in front at the second marker. Declaration and Heart Of Genghis were also involved in that early phase, while Criminal Law and Edward The Good sat close enough to strike. Without Warning was well placed from the outset, staying within range while conserving enough to finish. Berlin and Test The Waters were also in the main body of the race, while Wild Card Weekend, Black Swan Event, and Declaration had more to do as the field moved into the latter half.
By the third call, Criminal Law had taken over, with Individuation still very much in the fight and Without Warning advancing into a strong position. Edward The Good was right there as well, while Test The Waters and Berlin tried to stay within striking distance. Wild Card Weekend continued from farther back, and Black Swan Event and Heart Of Genghis were under pressure to make up ground.
In the stretch, Without Warning wore down the leaders and proved strongest at the finish. Criminal Law kept on bravely and dead-heated for second on the chart margin with the winner’s listed finish position before being recorded second in the order of finish. Edward The Good stayed on for third and was right behind the top pair. Individuation was still involved late and held fourth, while Test The Waters and Berlin followed. Wild Card Weekend never quite found the needed closing punch, and Black Swan Event, Heart Of Genghis, and Declaration completed the field.
Individual Trip Notes
Without Warning gave TwinTowersRacing and Geroux F a tough, professional victory. He never got far from the leaders, improved steadily through the race, and had enough left to settle the issue in the final yards.
Criminal Law ran far better than many would have expected at this price. He tracked closely, took over by the third call, and battled all the way to the finish. This was a very strong effort and one of the best races of his career.
Edward The Good had a winning chance turning for home and stayed on well to be third. He was involved throughout and did not give much away in defeat.
Individuation set the pace from the start and was still in front through the second call. After doing the hard work early, he continued on gamely before settling for fourth.
Test The Waters was never too far away and remained competitive through the stretch. He did not have the final kick of the top three but ran a credible race.
Berlin was prominent early enough to matter and stayed in the fight into the later stages, though he could not deliver the same finish he showed in the KY Cup Classic.
Wild Card Weekend raced from farther back and tried to improve into the race, but the late response was not quite enough to threaten the topflight.
Black Swan Event made some mild progress from off the pace and passed a few late, though he never looked like a serious win candidate.
Heart Of Genghis was within the body of the field early, but he could not sustain that position when the real running began.
Declaration was part of the early action before weakening badly in the second half of the race and finishing last.
