A field of twelve of some of the best sprinters in the game have been entered for this years running of the grade one Vosburgh here at Belmont Park. Last years winner is making a start in this race to defend his title. Let’s take a look at the field.
1. Kill Command (10-5-2-2 $267.530), trained by Fractious
The first runner in the field right here is coming into this race off of an eighth place finish in the grade one Jerkens Memorial. That was not his best race as he won the grade two Amsterdam before that. If he runs the race he ran two back he could have a longshot chance.
2. Zombie City (22-4-7-1 $2050.200), trained by Eastern Equine
A very interesting entry here as this runner has definitely done all of his best work going around two turns. Just looking at his form I think the farther the better but maybe shortening up will do the trick for him. I have no idea how this horse will run in here.
3. Marx On The Moon (11-3-1-2 $342.200), trained by Court Jester Racing
Also a interesting entry in here as this horse seems to run better at about seven furlongs or longer. He usually shows a big closing kick down the stretch so when he runs farther it helps him out. If the pace is fast he will be rolling late like usual I’m sure.
4. Residue (19-7-2-3 $1279.120), trained by John Henry
Last years defending champ of the race right here and he will be making his first start back in the John Henry barn after a stint with a different trainer. He tried the turf in his last two but sprinting on the dirt is his game. He should like the return to his old barn and surface. He will be tough.
5. Conformity (13-2-4-3 $195.220), trained by John Henry
The second of three for John Henry and this horse is coming into this race off of nose defeat in the Tale Of The Cat at Saratoga. He ran a good race in there that day but this is a whole other jump up in class and I just don’t really see him winning.
6. Kapa Gold (4-3-1-0 $166.040), trained by Drabfantasy
A very lightly raced four year old right here but he has done pretty much nothing wrong in his four starts. He has two big stakes wins against statebred company. Even though this is his first time against open horses I think he is one to watch out for with a big longshot look.
7. Lucky Star (28-5-10-2 $537.600), trained by Mb Stables
First of two for Mb Stables in this race and this horse is going to be making his first start for Mb Stables. He was a graded stakes winner over a year ago but since then he just has not been able to find the winners circle. He is a good horse but he never seems to win.
8. Blowberg (11-4-1-1 $597.200), trained by Estero Farms
The winner of the grade one Jerkens Memorial right here and that was really a breakthrough performance for him that day. He finally got a score in a graded stakes race that day and if he can keep the momentum going from that win I see him having a good chance in here.
9. Z One Chance (24-9-6-1 $1625.540), trained by Mb Stables
Here is one who already has a free spot in the Breeders Cup Sprint with his win in the grade one Crosby. Mb Stables bought him for eight hundred dollars after he was sold for just two hundred dollars eleven days before that. It shows a lot of confidence for that purchase so he should be looked at.
10. Sonar (28-12-4-2 $992.160), trained by John Henry
The last of the three from John Henry right here and this horse is coming into this race off of sixth place finish in the grade one Forego. It was a very good sixth as he was only beaten less than a length. I could see him having a decent chance in here.
11. Shanghai Days (16-5-4-1 $384.100), trained by Night Rider Stables
Here is one that also has an alright chance at getting a win in this spot as he has been knocking on the door in these grade ones. He has been beaten less than a length in two grade ones in a row. If the pace is fast he will he coming late.
12. Con Artist (20-7-4-3 $914.840), trained by Mb Stables

13. Gold Sunset (14-2-1-2 $135.460), trained by Maze Stables
Last runner in the field here and he draws in off the also eligible with the scratch of the twelve. This horse was a decent runner at one point but his career has been wasted with bad trips and now he is going downhill. From this post he will probably be in front but he won’t hang around for long.
Summary
An absolutely stacked field for this race as at least seven or more could win this race. My top pick has to be the three year old Blowberg coming off of that win in the Jerkens Memorial. He will have to run big but I think he can do it. Good luck to all in the field.
