1 OP The Razorback Hcp (GIII)
$600.000 4yo&Up 1 1/16m Dirt Hcp Weights
Only six lengths from front to back in Saturday’s Razorback Hcp (GIII) and in a race that I just didn’t know what to expect, seems we got exactly that as the post time favorites finished last and next to last, but D J C Racing Stables’ Night Creature used speed to either set or press the pace and was able to get to the wire first. He got the mile and a sixteenth in 1:41 and took the lion’s share of the $600.000 purse. First Class Male contested the pace with the winner and had to settle for the place, despite turning for home with a length advantage. 91/1 Hollywood Revolution raced mid-pack for most of this one, but showed some late foot to finish third by the slimmest of margins over So Profound, who took the minor money.
Night Creature is a 4yo bay gelding and is by Brutal – Steelprincessyazhayz, by Pure Steel, and he was bred in NY by Aer Stables. He was purchased by his current connections via Private Sale back in Aug of last season for $300.000. This was his fifth win from seventeen starts and he now shows lifetime earnings of $817.840.

Night Creature contested the pace with rival, pushed by that one late, won driving. First Class Male broke alertly, speed duel with foe, just missed in a game effort. Hollywood Revolution forwardly placed throughout while in behind the pace, late kick secured show. So Profound broke mid-pack, lost some ground, found best stride too late, narrowly missed show. Champion In Action away well, pressed the pace, lost position late. Ice Wall, evenly, no threat. Puppet Master, outrun. Aerialist up close to the lane, no late foot. Crafty was not a factor. Set In Space, one pace, outrun. Unfold was outrun. Final Decision, dull effort. Eclipse My Knowledge trailed throughout.
