$150.000 3yo&Up F&M Foaled in NY 7f Dirt 3yo 121lbs Older 124lbs +penalties
Hollywood Phooey, owned by Sunny J Farm, continues to prove that the barn made a very smart claim taking this one at The Spa back in Jul for $25.000 and since then had a second vs. Alw horses, a third vs. NY-bred stakes foes and today took the NY Stallion Series – Staten Island with a bold move down the lane that took her into the lead nearing the sixteen marker and she kicked clear late for the three-quarters of a length victory. Di Lemoniti did all of the heavy lifting, setting the pace to deep stretch, but just couldn’t hold off the winner, taking the second spot by length over Widen Your View and El Gran Condotteri took the minor money. The final running time was 1:21.68 for the seven panels over the fast AQU main oval.
Hollywood Phooey is a 4yo bay filly by Hollywood Kruz – Steel Phooey, by The Way To Steel and she was bred in NY by Estero Farms. As mentioned, she was claimed by Sunny J Farms for $25.000 during the SAR meet and she’s been on the board in all three starts for this barn. She now has six wins from twenty-five starts and lifetime earnings of $275.570. Congrats to the connections!
