Such is this pace influenced engine that if you can get away from your rivals even if the pace is fast you can beat the closing styles. This was a classic example of that as this six-year-old went very hard early and was allowed to set up a winning break before the closers had even started to move. Though she has won some nice races in her career I think this may have been her most impressive performance as the $1.00 purchase from Smokey Stover took her earnings just shy of $400.00

Closing on this engine is so hard especially in sprints and this one only got going once the race was won. Despite the fast early pace, it was more a matter of the leader stopping than this one ever running fast enough through the final quarter to win and today as is usually the case the leader didn’t stop.    

3rd        June Taylor Dancer     Martyparty       Espinoza V                     1:09.59

Another that just let the leader go I would love to ask our virtual jockeys how they adjust their watches because they always seem to arrive too late. In fairness to Espinoza this horse probably ran her best race here to finish third and there will probably be no complaints from her trainer.           

4th        Ceilidh Dancer             SamIam            Eramia R E                      1:09.64

Another deep closer, she was never put in the race with a chance but managed fourth at over 100/1 so probably exceeded expectations.
