Decisive Work Ensures Decisive Moon the Win

Longacres Mile – Grade III
1 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $200.000 Open 3 Year Olds And Up.

1st   Decisive Moon  John Henry               Gutierrez J M

The writing was on the wall for this horse who found a full second of improvement in the last few months and worked a sizzling 1:36 flat at the end of July for the mile. It wasn’t adds that made the difference so either John Henry found a formula in his home work, found a miracle instruction or its just HRP code coming to maturity. whatever it was he looked nailed on for the win here and made no mistakes coming home a length clear on a muddy surface that really didnt bother him. The trainer will be hunting around for another race to get him into the BC picture.

2nd   Motor City  Joshua Stables               Hernandez J J

He had far superior form to the winner but whilst he has been good for a long time now the winner had been sprinkled with some fairy dust recently and improved enough to hold this ones late challenge. Another great effort but like all early season three’s they are vulnerable to these type of late improvers at this time of year.

3rd   Kiss The Snake  Nakamura Stables  Bowen R

Faced an impossible task at the weights and he ran admirably to be third although he was fairly well beaten. I don’t think the wet ground helped his cause either but he will be back when the weight allowance lessens.

4th   Charentes  Angelos Stable               Whitaker J

Like the third horse faced an impossible task at the weights. He broke fast and made the running for a long way but predictably weakened down the stretch.
