Albaquirky Tries to Extend His Four-Race Win Streak in The Troy

The Troy – Grade 3 – $300.000

SAR – 5 ½ Furlongs – Turf

For Four Year Olds And Upward

August 5, 2023

Who will challenge Albaquirky and potentially put an end to his impressive win streak?

1 You Know Youre Right (Mo Mentum Farm)

Third in the Connaught Cup Stakes last out. His last win came in N1X company at WO in April. Speed figures and works look solid. Looks like a real contender.

2 Albaquirky (Santan Stables)

This five-year-old gelding has been spectacular this year with a string of four stakes wins and three triple-digit SRF figures and a track record in the TS Turf Sprint at CD two back. Looks like the one to beat.

3 Brevard (Grimley)

Tried graded level for the first time last out and finished last of eleven going a mile on turf. Shortens up here, but still has a big hill to climb to beat these.

4 Maze (Gdp Inc)

Solid allowance horse making his first attempt at graded stakes in a tough spot. Will need a top effort to get part of this purse.

5 Mystery (Fractious)

Won the $100.000 Lure Stakes two back but hasn’t hit the board in graded company since he won the GP Turf Sprint in February 2022. Another one that will need to bring his A game.

6 Show Me How To Live (Mo Mentum Farm)

Graded stakes winner but hasn’t had much luck at that level lately. Could be his comeback race. Could get a piece of the purse.

7 Creepy Rocky Party (Mb Stables)

Won the Highland Stakes last out and scored the fourth triple-digit SRF in as many starts. Does his best running on or near the lead, and he could be there at the wire.

8 Last City (Lemax Farms)

Won this year’s GP Turf Sprint in February but hasn’t been back to the winner’s circle since. Finished second two back in the $100.000 Chamberlain Bridge. Not as flashy as some of these, but his works are solid.

9 Norski Raider (Mb Stables)

Comes in off back-to-back wins in allowance company. Does well at that level but hasn’t been able to get it done in graded company. Has his work cut out for him here.
