  • Fight Clubber Knocks Them Out in Stretch to Win Bourbon

Two year old stakes races can often give us a surprising winner, but that would not be the case for readers of our preview, as Fight Clubber showed that his win in the KD Juvenile was not a fluke by knocking out the field in the Bourbon. Why he was 19/1, I can’t explain, but take that easy money!

  • Tight Finish in Shadwell Turf Mile Sees Seven Is Lucky Prevail

While Seven Is Lucky may have been a 14/1 longshot in the Shadwell Turf Mile, he is no stranger to success in this race, having finished second two years ago. He’s been decent this year as well, but in this field, he would be lost in the shuffle with all of the talent around him.

  • King Z Rules in Pattison Canadian International

Several horses in the Pattison Canadian International took part in the KD Turf Cup last month, setting up an interesting rematch between a few of them. The bettors would make the KD Turf Cup’s winner, Sioux Arrival, a pretty big favorite, but it would be royalty, King Z, that atoned for his fifth place run in that race with a win in the Pattison.

  • The First Rule of Bourbon Is The BC for Its Winner

On Sunday, the Bourbon will hold the distinction of being the final “win and you’re in” race for any of the BC races. It’s one of three such races for the BC Juvenile Turf, coming just a couple days after the Pilgrim is run at AQU.

  • Mint Million Rematch in Shadwell Turf Mile

If trainers are hoping to get into the BC Mile by virtue of winning a “win and you’re in” race, Saturday’s running of the Shadwell Turf Mile is their last chance to do so. With just a month to go now before we enjoy the biggest weekend in racing, a field of fourteen has made their way to KEE with visions of either getting into the BC Mile or solidifying their spot in the race.

  • Welcome Back! Pattison Returns to the Schedule

While the days of the Pattison Canadian International offering a $2,000.000 purse and seeing Bronze Sabre dominate it like he did three years in a row, this is still a great opportunity for distance turf horses and we’re glad to have it back. After all, the race was not held in the real world last year, and it was also shelved in 2022.

  • Mightiness Grabs the Win Late in DEL Handicap

Last month at ELP, Mightiness won the $200.000 Groupie Doll, and would make her graded debut in the DEL Handicap. She also needed to carry one more pound than the rest of the field, but none of that would prove to matter as she got up in time to get the big win!

  • Late Push Sends Spring Street to Zenyatta Stakes Win

The last time that Spring Street ran here at SA, she won the Grade 2 Santa Maria Stakes in April, and was hoping that a return to the track would lead to her formally getting a spot in the BC Distaff. The track’s been kind to over the course of her career, and it would be again, with a fantastic stretch performance to grab the win.

  • Creepy Romantic Earns Slick Victory in SA Sprint Championship

Maxmillion Farm brought two strong entries into the SA Sprint Championship, and both of them were a part of our pre-race picks. While one of them may not have had one of his better races, Creepy Romantic has the trainer living the high life as he grabs the win, and all of the spoils that go with it.

  • With Purse and Distance Reduction, DEL Handicap Runs with Six

DEL will get a rare opportunity to get called into action on Sunday, as a field of six takes part in the $400.000 DEL Handicap. This is for fillies and mares on the main track, and is run at nine furlongs. That purse amount is a far cry from the $1,000.000 that was offered from 2006-2009, and represents a low point for the race.
